Beomgyu takes a cab back to the dorms at Dynamite Academy. While his luggage is stuck at the airport due to his sudden departure, he still has things to do back in college.
Beomgyu inserts his key into his keyhole and turns the door knob to enter his room. He walks towards his closet and takes out a duffle bag and instantly shoves his belongings into the bag.
But, in all honesty, he couldn't think clearly and straight. He feels his mind strained and his hands move mindlessly, shoving things here and there into his bag. And no matter how hard he tries to drift his thoughts away, they all return back to the one person who never fails to be stuck in his mind;
Kang Taehyun.
But, like he said, it's over. And what better way to get it over with by accepting the volleyball training course in Japan?
"Beomgyu-hyung!!"
Beomgyu looks over his shoulders to find Kai and Soobin at the entrance.
Soobin scrunches his eyebrows and instantly crouches down onto the floor beside Beomgyu as he eyes the latter's duffle bag.
"What the hell are you doing?" Soobin asks.
"Leaving to Japan. It's a part of the contract I received for the volleyball training course." Beomgyu says.
"Isn't that like next week?" Kai asks.
Beomgyu shrugs his shoulders. "I decided to start off early."
Beomgyu zips his bag up and puts the strap over his shoulder before standing up, only to be held back by Soobin grabbing the hem of his shirt but not uttering a word.
Beomgyu sighs. "Did you guys know about it? About Taehyun being an FBI?" Beomgyu asks.
Kai and Soobin look down to the ground with guilty expression and Beomgyu nods, knowing the answer just by it.
"So I guess I'm the only one-" Beomgyu says.
"He had no choice." Kai says.
"He did." Beomgyu says.
"Wait-" Soobin stops him. "Where's Taehyun? Is he okay? You're leaving, what about him?" Soobin asks.
Beomgyu sighs but finds his eyes turning glossy as tears threaten to spill from the corners of his eyes.
"You can't give up on him just like that!!" Kai exclaims, rushing towards the brunette and gripping him on both sides of his shoulder.
"He gave me his answer already." Beomgyu says, holding back his tears but his voice comes out shaky.
Soobin tilts his head, perplexing crosses his face.
"What do you mean?" The blue haired boy asks.
Beomgyu takes a breather. "Like I said, he gave me his answer already. By leaving."
Kai's eyes widen. "Taehyun left?? Y-You're joking right? He wouldn't leave like that!! To where??"
Beomgyu shrugs his shoulders. "I don't know where he went. Even his adoptive brother doesn't know. I went to the hospital and he's gone, for good-"
The brunette clutches his fingers around the straps of his duffle bag. "It's better this way. We're both hurt from the lies and truth-"
"So?! You're just ending things like that with him??" Kai asks with a disbelief tone.
"It's for the best."
Beomgyu walks towards the door only for his arm to be grabbed. He turns around to see Soobin with worried eyes as the taller's grip around his wrist tightens.
"Don't you want to search for him?" Soobin asks.
'Do I?' Beomgyu thinks to himself.
Beomgyu releases his grip from Soobin's hand.
"I'm afraid that if I search for him-" Beomgyu answers.
"I'll only be trapped again."
With that, Beomgyu leaves the dorms and takes a cab to the airport once again. Because he had missed his earlier flight, he bought a new ticket. What's more, he hadn't told his parents yet that he's leaving for Japan.
But he's not in the mood to talk to them yet. He's still mad at them. And if he did tell them, who knows another FBI agent or security guard might show up in front of his door.
"Here's your ticket." The lady hands. "The plane will be boarding soon. You may proceed to the boarding gates." She says.
Beomgyu nods. "Thank you."
Beomgyu makes way into the boarding gates as he waits for his flight to arrive. He tries distracting his thoughts by plugging his earphones into his ears and listening to some vinyl music but it didn't work.
He then remembers the bouquet of flowers he had bought for Taehyun and the small dark blue box he had placed in the middle. He recalls going to the hospital earlier to find the bouquet gone along with Taehyun.
'Has he opened it yet?' Beomgyu asks himself.
But it's useless now, he won't even know if Taehyun had opened the small blue box. The day Beomgyu left for Japan, and Taehyun leaving to wherever he was, they never would've thought-
That it was the last time they'd see each other.
