Taehyun slowly opens his eyelids, blinking a few times to adjust his vision. He takes in the appearance of the room he's in; white walls and white furniture. Minimalist at its finest with a calming lavender scent oozing out of the air freshener.
Taehyun sits up on the bed, letting out a groan as he reaches to massage his temples. He's got a bad headache and he feels as if he'll puke his guts out in seconds. He finds a comfy blanket over him and the large space beside him untouched. He then realizes he's in a king sized bed and when he lifts up the blanket, and looks at the clothes he's wearing, he notices he's wearing nothing but a long baggy white shirt with tight shorts. Like-
These could be mistaken as boxers in a split second.
The smell of food fills his nostril and Taehyun gets out from the bed, following the aroma as he opens the door and walks down the stairs and towards what he assumes is the kitchen only to meet the broad back of a certain person.
Beomgyu feels an intense gaze on him and turns to look over his shoulder to find Taehyun peeking into the kitchen. Beomgyu smiles at the younger's appearance; wearing his baggy white shirt and shorts.
"Good morning." Beomgyu greets as he brings out a tray with soup and a glass of juice at the side.
He places it on the kitchen counter and Taehyun takes a seat on one of the stools.
"Good morning..." Taehyun mutters, his voice coming our hoarse.
"Eat up. I'm sure you have a bad hangover." Beomgyu gestures as he sits across the younger.
Taehyun nods and takes a sip of the soup. He then eyes his surroundings, taking in the luxurious interior of the house and it's fancy furniture and decorations.
"Where's your Sir and Mrs Choi? Don't you have housekeepers?" Taehyun asks.
"Dad has a conference and my mom tagged along. For the housekeepers, I gave them a day off." Beomgyu says.
Taehyun nods. He then recalls the night before and remembers how drunk he was. What caught him off guard is that the moment he opened his eyes, he finds himself in a kigmng sized bed and he can guess that he was in Beomgyu's room. He glances up at the now black haired male and his cheeks flush red, hesitating whether or not to ask.
"D-Did we do anything yesterday?" Taehyun asks, looking down at his soup.
Beomgyu shakes his head. "We didn't. You slept in my room and I slept in my parents'. Y'know I'd never touch you without your consent, right?" Beomgyu says in the most casual way.
Just hearing the word 'touch' had gotten Taehyun's stomach flutter.
"You were molested yesterday and thank God I was there, or it could've been something worse. You were drunk after all, you fainted right after." Beomgyu explains.
"Explains why I don't remember anything after." Taehyun says.
Once again the room falls silent as awkwardness circulates the air.
Taehyun finds himself clutching around his glass of juice as he notices Beomgyu avoiding his gaze. The silence was killing him.
And it was killing Beomgyu too.
"You look good with pink hair." Beomgyu compliments.
Taehyun flinches but then smiles faintly. "Thanks, you look great in black as well."
Beomgyu chuckles and then his eyes land on Taehyun's neck, he had just noticed the necklace around his neck and Beomgyu's eyes softened at the sight, his heart twinging.
"You wear it?" Beomgyu asks, eyes not removing from the sight of the necklace.
Taehyun holds onto the necklace as if he's holding onto dear life. It's might not seem special; it looks like any regular necklace with a ring as a pendant. But to Taehyun, it meant the world to him because it was the gift Beomgyu left for him three years ago, in the small dark blue box placed in the middle of the bouquet before Beomgyu left him.
Before Taehyun left too.
Taehyun finds his cheeks burning up and he nods. "I wear it everyday..." Taehyun mutters.
Beomgyu smiles. And Taehyun wasn't sure what kind of confidence washed over him but it only made his state of mind worse after the next thing he says.
"I'm sorry for running away like that. I didn't know how to face you three years ago-"
"It's in the past." Beomgyu says, cutting him off but silently biting his lower lip.
"Ohh..." Taehyun nods, a tint of disappointment plastered on his face. "Have you moved on?" Taehyun asks.
'WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ASKING HIM??' Taehyun thinks to himself.
Beomgyu's eyes enlarge at the question but he remains a straight face.
"I-I've had a few hook ups of course..." Beomgyu says, slurring his words at the end.
Lies.
Taehyun nods, wishing Beomgyu doesn't sense the tint of disappointment in him. After all, they both left one another. Beomgyu has his rights to move on and Taehyun shouldn't interfere if Beomgyu's happy.
"Are you happy?" Taehyun asks.
It took a while for Beomgyu to answer and truthfully, Beomgyu didn't want to. Because he isn't sure. He's got mixed feelings after seeing Taehyun again after all those dreadful years. But a part of him still held onto the past.
"I... guess you could say that." Beomgyu says.
Lies.
Taehyun smiles feebly. That's all he needed to know.
Taehyun finishes up his soup and gets off the stool. "I think I over stayed my stay. I'll be leaving now." Taehyun says.
"Wait, let me ask my driver to send you-" Beomgyu says but then is cut off by Taehyun.
Taehyun waves his hands, rejecting the offer. "That's okay. I'll catch a cab. Thank you for the soup and drink-" Taehyun says as he makes his way to the stairs to grab his stuff but he stops halfway and turns to look back at Beomgyu, his eyes now glossy. "I-I wish you the best Beomgyu." Taehyun stutters but his voice comes out trembling.
"Taehyun, wait." Beomgyu says and approaches Taehyun near the stairs.
Beomgyu reaches into the depths of his pocket and pulls out what seems to be tickets. He holds onto Taehyun hand and places them in his palm. Just the from Beomgyu's soft touch sends electricity down Taehyun's spine.
"I have a tournament in LA next week. It was suppose to be this week but they postponed it to next week. It'd be great to see you there. And if you do, I'll prepare everything, the accommodations and the seats. You can invite your friends too. But I'm not forcing you to come I-"
Taehyun chuckles at the rambling latter and Beomgyu bites back a blush as he sees Taehyun giggling. Oh how much he missed the younger's contagious smile.
"I'll be there." Taehyun days before going up the stairs to grab his stuff to leave.
Beomgyu lets out a sigh and leans against the stairs as he eyes Taehyun going up the stairs. Beomgyu ruffles his fingers through his hair, letting out a small groan. He breathes out.
"I never got over you."
