A/N: reread some stories here for nostalgia's sake and it's like a little timeline of my fandoms! So why not post what I wrote for my current fandoms while not on wattpad and keep the line going?
Then I saw some stuff I wrote a long time ago and hadn't published, and that's the reason for this multi-update.
Have chapter one of this wtnv/sky cotl story. It's continued in AO3.
Edit: added the drawing I did for readers unfamiliar with Sky cotl video game----------------------------------
The Voice of Night Vale
CECIL: A star fell. Did you know?
With a burst of light it unstuck from the fabric of space, shining, glimmering, down and down to a speck of floating rock millions of miles away. People may look up and wish upon it, a futile action in an effort to improve the misery of their lives, or they may gaze upon it in wonder of the cosmos, before looking back down to continue their steady unending march through time. There is no functional purpose to looking at a falling star- or a meteor as my husband calls it, and yet we still look if given the chance.
But the star itself is, not without purpose. And so, the star fell.
Only, something went wrong. Like legs tripping over a curb, or hands clumsily fumbling over a priceless vase, the star wobbled on its course. Space, shifted. Teared, maybe.
Then it kept falling.

And now, traffic.
The Sherriff's Secret Police would like to announce that Elms Street is completely fine and that there was no screaming or howling or sickening meat sounds whatsoever. There was no murderous undulating mass that gave visions of your future death in its tendrils, nor was said mass caused by a failed ritual by the City Council because they wanted to meet the late Stan Lee. If you saw something, no you didn't, and you are advised to either open up the liquor cabinet or report yourself to the reeducation facilities.
"Drinking to forget would give us less paperwork by the way, so we'd rather you do us a favor. Okay, buddy?" the secret police officer said, reasonably. To which the citizen they were talking to nodded in reply and walked away in these, frankly, pretty impressive shoes. Wow! I wonder where she got them? Oooo maybe I can find it online, hang on-
Carlos
As Cecil got distracted from his report trying to search for shoes online, a scientist at the outskirts of town shook his head with a fond grin. He stayed for a moment more, listening to the triumphant 'aha!' from his car radio, before opening the door and stepping outside. The heat was almost like a physical wall, but Carlos was long used to it and paid it no mind.
He only had eyes for the desert, gaze sweeping left and right as the machine in his hands beeped. Carlos was sure the UFO (Unknown Falling Object) had landed somewhere in this area, backed by Josh Crayton, who said he was flying around as a cloud of bees with Glow Cloud Jr. when they saw a bright light landing here. But before they can get close, they were called back by The Glow Cloud (all hail), who was impatient to leave for their vacation. Josh went to say his goodbyes to his friend, but said he's looking forward to hearing what Carlos found on the radio later.
Carlos would've thought it was a meteor, but there was no sound of impact, the kind where something heavy hit the ground at terminal velocity, and there was no shockwave either.
