"You think we look awful? You should see the state of Rose, her skin is terr-i-bleeeh!-" Veneer explained, tilting his head from side to side as he filled Velvet in on the "drama" he had wormed his way into creating during his short stay with other inmates. "I mean I know we're in prison n' all, but washing your face won't go amiss. Girl's mug is like a mountain range and she has the audacity to talk shit to people." He continued and eagerly waited for his sister's response. He had missed this, he had missed her company, even if it was to talk badly of others. But like he said, them being in prison, the shit talk was expected.

Velvet's eyes watched the numbers go up above them, eagerly waiting to get out of the cramped elevator. Tapping her foot impatiently.

"I think I know who you're talking about. I got more time cause' she wouldn't stop running her mouth off She thinks she's soooooo much better than me- us." She quickly corrected herself, almost jumping out of the lift as they finally stopped and the doors creaked open on their block floor. They began walking towards the entrance before stopping to get their cuffs removed so they could return to their cells or join some of the others in what was left of their enrichment time.

Veneer pondered for a moment about his twin's response before a light went off in his head and he gapped his mouth in realisation. "Don't tell me YOU gave her that black eye?" Velvet simply flipped her rugged her behind her shoulder and strutted into the cell block, her body language instantly changing as she left the hallway. "Nice job." Veneer nodded in approval as he watched her and then followed behind.

"First things first. I want my fan mail."  She said, already heading in the general direction of her brother's shared cell. He was surprised she even knew where it was due to her ignoring his presence for so long. She didn't dare ask why this was the first she had heard of it. She assumed that it had been confiscated due to her behaviour and didn't know through Veneer otherwise as she didn't give him a chance to before.

Veneer pressed his finger to his lips before deciding to put something across to her, walking quickly ahead and stopping directly in her path. "Not until you join me and the others in the music room." He said with confidence, folding his arms and looking up at her. 'Seriously?' He thought, 'Not even 5 minutes out of solitary and with me and she's more concerned about our oh so beloved fans, I regret mentioning it.'

The eldest just stopped and looked at him puzzled. "Uuhh...and why would I wanna do that?" Looking around the ground level of the block, noticing a few rageons staring back at her from all levels, and then back to him.

"Becaaaauuuuse- um well, I missed jamming out with you, and I think it would do you some good. Please sis, just 20 minutes before I lose you to the weird fan's attention." He cringed visibly, wrinkling his nose and looking off to the left. Despite their actions there was always going to be a select few in denial and still directed their praise and attention towards them. He didn't want to beg but he knew her too well. He looked back and up at her attempting to give her puppy dog eyes, putting his hands together. "Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top?"

"Uuuuugh...fine. 20 minutes. I owe you that much." She groaned and pinched her thumb and index finger together as they both head to his cell to get fixed up first. They were in agreeance without verbally communicating that they both needed a glow up before attending any prison performances. They sat upon his bed and brushed each others tangled hair, Velvet hummed gently to herself as she combed through his locks and swept it to the side the best she could without product. Veneer then helped to tie back Vel's hair into her signature pony tail the best they could, splashing their faces with bottled water to appear a little fresher. Then proceeding to grab Veneer's secret stash of sweets he had hidden under his mattress and each of them taking a colour and smearing it on their lips.

The few other inmates that were already playing around in the music room didn't particularly miss Veneer not being there. They had all heard his natural voice when they decided to do karaoke and had to cover their ears whenever he worked up the confidence to fool around. Blue heard footsteps echoing up the metal grated steps that led to the room and peered around the corner. He blew his hair out of his face and gasped before warning the others. "Veneer's coming you guys- and he's brought Velvet." He whispered to them loudly and they all stopped what they were doing and panicked.

"Evening fellow criminals!~" Veneer chirped as he burst into the room, almost smacking the door into one of their faces. "I hope you're ready for an Encore!" He teased and just watched them try to hide their faces from second hand embarrassment and groan.

"Hmph. Kind of a poor choice of audience but an audience nonetheless." Velvet remarked and waved her hand as she forced her way into the room, a few of the other rageons backing away from her as she entered their space. "Hope you missed me. Or else." She smirked in the knowledge that she had more than likely put the others in the room in their place below her already by her being there alone. She looked back to her brother who was already fiddling about with the jukebox, sticking his tongue out as he plugged it in.

"Veneer- we thought you weren't going to make it, nd' we didn't expect to see you Velvet. You look- um- niCe." A fellow con with red curls stated not knowing what to say.

Velvet looked them dead in the eyes and said nothing making them sweat. Veneer chuckled to himself as he went through the song listing. "You won't believe what song they have." He said with a genuine smile on his face. He stood up and clicked the button, gently tossing the other microphone over to his sister. She caught it and her eyes lit up as she looked up onto the screen as the song started playing. Staring back at her was the opening instrumental and first lyrics to their very own song "Watch Me Work."

Except. It wasn't their song. Not really. The lyrics maybe but, their voices, they weren't their own. Velvet's eyes looked down at the microphone she had gripped tightly in her hand, and they darted to and from the screen as the song rhythmically started up, Ven paused sensing that something was wrong, why wasn't she singing? This was just for fun right?

She looked back at her hand and it was shaking violently. "I can't do this." And suddenly the mic dropped to the ground and she darted out of the room.
