I was in the medjack, helping Clint with organizing supplies, when Jeff strolled past with a snide remark. "Hey look, she's actually doing her job for once," he quipped, earning an eye roll from me. "Oh, shut up, shank," I retorted, rising to my feet. "Put that alcohol on your hands" Clint instructed. "I was planning on it," I replied, pouring the liquid.
"You get so aggressive every morning," Jeff comments . "Shut it, Jeff" I shot back. "God, I feel bad for your boyfriend, Minho" Jeff continued his banter. I scoffed "I don't have a boyfriend!" "You guys have had a thing since he came up the box." Clint backs him up "no we have not" "yes you have"
"I feel bad for your face," I playfully said back.
"Let me know when you can fix a wound on your own," he retorted sassily
"Okay, well, call me when you can read and write," I countered.
"Call me when you stop gawking over Minho," Jeff fired back, and I rolled my eyes.
"Call me when you're good at your job," I challenged.
"What? And you are?" Jeff retorted.
"Both of you shut up!" Clint interjected, causing us both to laugh. "Dang. Why did Nick make me work with these children?" he muttered to himself. "You know you love us" I teased, and Jeff chimed in, "Yeah, Clint." "Xylia, go get one of those extra baskets from Fry that he uses for apples," Clint instructed.
"Sir, yes, sir!" I saluted, earning an eye roll from him as I walked off to the kitchen.
"Hey Fry!" I called out to the boy, who turned around with a warm smile. "Yo trouble! my girl, how are ya?" he greeted, wrapping his arm around my shoulders. "Doin' good, for now. What about you?" I asked, and hopped on the counter and watching him clean.
"Bored, but I'm glad you're here!" His smile warmed my heart, and I smiled back. "You need help with anything??" I ask him "no, not right now" I nodded in response
"You think medjack could borrow a basket?" I ask, He nodded, "Course," handing me one. "Thanks, Fry!" I hopped off the counter. "Wanna ring the lunch bell while you're at it?" he asked. "You got it!" I rang the bell and returned to medjack, placing the basket down. "Let's go eat!" Jeff exclaimed, throwing his arm around my shoulder. "So, you gonna let me have your bread today?" he teased. "In your dreams!"
We grabbed our food and headed to our regular table with our usual people: Newt, Nick, Marcus, and sometimes Ben and Minho if they were back on time. As we ate, Clint spoke "Have you guys found Gally yet?" Nick shook his head, "No, we haven't... we're not sure where he went." I hummed in response. Me and gally have always been friends. When he was brought up to the glade, he was scared like everyone else. But now he plays mean and dirty making everyone scared of him.
I look over and see Minho as he dashed by. He winked at me and I couldn't help but smile. "Not your boyfriend, huh?" Clint teased. I playfully glared, "Slim it" earning a chuckle from him. Newt got up "where you goin?" I asked him "Back to work I'm not really hungry" my eyebrows frown "oh, okay"
"can I have your bread then?" Jeff says and I roll my eyes same with Nick "sure" Jeff took it off his tray. But then he dropped it once a loud alarm goes off causing him to jump. "New greenie!" I said and we stand up and go over to the box.
Newt opens it and jumps down looking at the boy. He looked up at newt scared. They got him out "welcome to the glade greenie!" Alby says putting a hand on his shoulder "okay Newt, your on tour. Everyone back to work"
Newt showed the greenie around "if the box comes up every month, who was the first person here?" The greenie asked newt. He sits down on a log and the greenie sits by him. He looks over at Xyliah, Nick, Daniel and alby "you see those 4 over there?" Newt asks. He nodded "They were the first ones in the glade. They run things here" newt says
"Theres only one girl?" Newt nodded
"her job is kinda confusing, she's in charge but she also is in medjack with Clint and jeff, but also helps the runners when they really need it. If it wasn't for her things here would be borin" newt explained. The greenie nods "but don't get any ideas, she could break your arms and shove it right up your ass, alright?" the greenie nodded "come on"
