After my shift in medjack, I climbed up one of the towers, enjoying the sunset I could See just barely over the walls
I . Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching, and I turned to see Minho settling beside me. "Hey," he greeted softly. "Hey," I replied, meeting his gaze. "What are you doing up here?" I asked. "Real question is, what are you doing up here?" he countered with a grin. "Just watching the sunset, Minho," I replied with a small smile, gazing at the horizon. "So, what are you doing here?" I asked curiously.
"I always sit up here. 'Minho's spot'," he explained. I glanced at him teasingly, "Must've missed the sign." He chuckled, and I turned back to the sunset, feeling his eyes on me.
"Or maybe, it's because I saw you up here" he says and I felt my cheeks heat up. I look at him and his face was also pink
"You looked pretty depressed. So I knew my charming looks would fix that," he played it off, and I couldn't help but laugh softly.
"I'll push you off of here, you know?" I teased back.
"You can't ruin this beautiful face," he replied, earning an eye roll from me.
The comfortable silence enveloped us for a moment until Minho broke it
. "Was it different?" he asked softly. I turned to him. "Being one of the first people here," he clarified. I hesitated, searching for an answer. "No, well... kinda. I had Nick, Alby, and Daniel with me. So, no, it wasn't," I replied honestly, meeting his gaze. "Liya, I-" Minho began, but our conversation was interrupted by shouts for help. Without a word, we rushed down the tower towards the entrance of the maze.
we found Gally on the ground,."Gally!?" I exclaimed in shock, kneeling beside him. I look at his arm seeing he was stung by a griever. "He was stung, take him to medjack now!" I instructed, and Jeff and I hurried back to medic, Minho and Daniel carrying Gally behind us. We clear off the table and put him Down. we assessed his condition, panic filled the room until Gally suddenly sat up, gasping for air. "Gally," I said, placing a hand on his, and he calmed down upon seeing me.
"Xyliah?" he whispered, and I nodded reassuringly. After Gally had calmed down, we bombarded him with questions, baffled by his survival. "You were stung. How is this possible?" Alby asked, echoing our confusion. "I don't know," Gally admitted, his voice strained.
"What did you see?" I inquired, and his words left me speechless. "I saw you," he confessed, and the room fell silent as everyone processed his revelation. "Me?" I repeated in disbelief.
"Yeah, you're my sister, Xyliah," he affirmed, and the shock was palpable."I'm sorry, what?" Newt interjected, breaking the tension.
"I saw it all, I saw our parents... we grew up together," Gally explained, his gaze fixed on me.
"You're my brother?" I whispered, still trying to comprehend.
"Now we know where she gets her attitude from," Jeff whispers to Clint, earning a playful slap from me. "Shut up, Jeff," I muttered, though a smile tugged at my lips.
"But, you guys look nothing alike," Clint pointed out, and I rolled my eyes. "Same attitude, they fight a lot too," Alby chimed in, smiling. "Shut up, Alby," I said with a grin "same mom, just different dads"
Gally told me. I nodded "So, you remember who put us in here?" Nick pressed, but Gally shook his head. "I can't. They won't let us," he admitted. "Well, you won't be near the maze again," Alby declared, and I couldn't help but chuckle."Shut up, Alby," Gally and I said in unison, exchanging a knowing glance.
"Yup, definitely siblings," Minho observed with a grin.
"Anyway. Get some sleep Gal" Nick says and patting his back. He nodded "goodnight gally" I said with a smile and I walk out. I was walking to my hut when Minho stops me
"Xyliah! Wait up!" He jogs over to me "let me walk you" I giggle "what a gentleman" I said and he smiled as we start walking "how do you feel about, your brother" he asks.
I blink "it's shocking, I mean gally? I would've Atleast thought Daniel. We look more alike" I said and he laughs
"yeah" "but I've always liked gally. but now I guess he's blood" he looked at me as we reach my hut "Get some sleep, min" I said "of course. I always need my beauty sleep" he says and I roll my eyes smiling
