I headed out of Medjack for lunch, grabbing my food before finding my table. "Somebody was late to work today !" Jeff told newt, and I playfully hit the back of his head.
"Shut up, Jeff I was not" I said with a smile as I sat down. "Hey, Thomas"' I greeted him. "Hey, Xyliah" he smiled back.
"liyah-" I cut Jeff off. "No, Jeff, you cannot have my bread." I said, and he rolled his eyes. "Whatever" he replied, and I giggled.
As we sat and talked, Thomas asked me, "Newt told me you were one of the first people in the maze?" I nodded, recounting
"It was scary. We didn't know what was going on, but all we knew was that if we had each other, that's all that mattered." "We?" Thomas questioned. "Me, Alby..." I hesitated, then continued
"Nick and Daniel." Marcus and I locked eyes briefly before he looked away.
"Who's Nick?" Thomas inquired. "You know you ask alot of question?" Marcus says and I nudge his leg and gave him a look
"He was the very first one here" Newt explained. I twirled my necklace nervously.
"What happened to him?" Thomas pressed. Newt glanced at me before answering
"He went crazy from being in here for so long" My heart sank. "Newt," I interjected, "Sorry Xyliah"
I felt angry that newt would even say that.
"he didn't go crazy. He thought he could find us another way out. He jumped down the box and was cut in half"
Thomas looked horrified. "Liyah.." Newt started, but I cut him off. "No. I'm sorry" I said, shaking my head, then left.
I went to Medjack and heard someone open the door. "I didn't mean to get upset; I'll apologize to Newt later" I said.
"Not that I know what you're talking about" Gally replied. I turn and look at him "Oh, Gally. Sorry, I thought you were somebody else" I said, realizing my mistake. "Just checking on you, Lee" he said with a small smile.
"You know you shouldn't have put Thomas on the spot like that last night" Gally scoffs.
"Yeah, I know. I was just scaring the shank" Jeff admitted, rolling his eyes. "Gal-" I began, but we were interrupted by screaming. Frowning, we both ran out of the room, seeing Thomas being chased by Ben.
I rushed over as Newt knocked Ben over.
"Ben! Calm down!" Gally attempted, holding down his wrist. I helped Thomas up, asking, "Are you okay?" He was in shock. Looking at Ben, I realized he was stung.
"Roll up his shirt" I instructed. "No, no, no, Xyliah, please!" Ben pleaded as Alby complied, revealing the mark.
"In the middle of the day?!"Gally exclaimed. Put him in the pit"Alby ordered. "No! No, no! Please, no! I can get better!" Ben begged as he was dragged away.
