Soda's POV

I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off, and I turned it off quickly.

I stretched and rubbed my eyes before rolling out of bed and walking to the bathroom.

I looked at my clothes, and memories of last night came rushing back to me, making me feel ill.

I turned the handle in the shower all the way to the left so the water would be as warm as possible.

In a few seconds, the whole bathroom was steamy, and I undressed before stepping inside and lathering soap on my hands.

I scrubbed vigorously all over my body, getting distracted by the tingling sensation the water was giving me.

I almost fell asleep standing up but ran cold water over my face to wake me up fully.

Once I was finished, I turned the water off and stepped out of the shower.

I shook my hair until it was dry and wrapped a towel around my waist before walking out of the bathroom and into my bedroom.

I wasn't in the mood to grease my hair today.

I opened a drawer and pulled my work clothes out, getting dressed quickly and quietly so I wouldn't wake up Ponyboy.

Once I was dressed, I looked at the clock and saw that I had 30 minutes until I had to leave.

I walked into the kitchen and ate a bowl of cereal while I waited for Steve to pick me up.

I couldn't help but think about Dally and his sad face the last time I saw him. He's probably just as depressed as I am right now.

But I still can't believe he could get that drunk to do something like that. Is a couple of beers and a few shots of vodka all it takes for him to forget about me?

Maybe I'm overreacting. I don't drink, so I'm not sure how I would react when I'm drunk. But still, I don't think I'd hook up with someone I met that day.

When I was finished eating, I put my bowl in the sink and decided to go wake Ponyboy up for school.

I shook him gently and said, "Ponyboy, it's time for school, buddy."

He groaned and rolled over before he started snoring after a few seconds.

I pulled the blanket off of him, and he squirmed like a worm before saying, "Give it back, Soda!"

"Get up and take a warm shower if you're cold. It's time to get ready." I said, walking out of the room.

After sitting on the couch for a few minutes, I could hear Steve's car pulling up.

I walked to the door before saying, "Bye, Ponyboy, have a good day, and don't miss the bus!" Then I walked out and closed the door behind me.

I walked over to the passenger side and got in and put my seat belt on. I could feel Steve giving me a weird look, so I looked back at him and said, "What?"

"I think you forgot to do your hair, buddy." He replied, pointing to my head.

I sighed and said, "I didn't forget, I just didn't feel like doing it."

He looked concerned, but all he said was, "Oh, okay."

I guess he noticed I wasn't in a good mood because he didn't talk for the rest of the ride to work, and I just looked out the window the whole time.

I'm already ready for this day to be over, and it hasn't even started yet.

When we got to work, we both got out of the car and clocked in for our shift.
