"BYE MOM" gracie called, from the bottom of the staircase "what? where are you going?" her mom asked, appearing at the top of the stairs holding a laundry basket
"my shift starts in twenty minutes, I'm on the night shift this week remember?" she reminded her, as she pulled her sneakers on "I have to get there soon or chris will force me to work the weekend too, love you bye" she said, grabbing her bag and opening the front door
"call me when you're on your way back!" her mom shouted, before she shut the door. she unlocked her car, throwing her bag into the back seat before shutting the door and starting the engine.

SHE OPENED the door to the diner, the bell chiming above her head as she walked through "you're early for once" gracie heard christophers thick accent call from the kitchen
"yeah, didn't feel like getting fired today" she replied sarcastically, heading to the staffs bathroom, uniform in hand "didnt realise i hired a comedian" he fired back, poking his head out the window
"you learn something new everyday christopher" she winked with a smirk, causing him to roll his eyes, before walking through the bathroom door
