4. Its The Wine Talking

Brooklyn POV

"Can y'all move any faster" I groaned.

Oakland has some pretty bad traffic, okay well California in general. I should've left 20min earlier. I was on my way to the Curry residence as today was our meeting.

Things were coming song pretty well, but I still had to call the venue to double check just to be safe, find someone to make the invitations, and send a playlist to the DJ. And so much more.

I finally made it and surprisingly I wasn't late as it was just nearing 7'clock.

I knocked lightly on the door and it swung open revealing those famous pair of hazel eyes.

"No pamphlets or big binders thank god" he smiled. "Come on in Brook."

"We still have a lot of work to get done Curry" I laughed as he led me to the living room.

"I know, Jade gave me the run down about 20 times" he chuckled. "There's Chinese if you want some oh and I have wine, or water.

"But I know that I'm gonna need some wine to relax my nerves because that list was long."

"Alright then Mr. Curry let's get started" I laughed.

"Please call me Wardell." He said as he sat down.

"Okay Wardell" I smiled. "I think that we should start with the invitations first because you guys have a lot of guests" I laughed.

"Yeah...it's mostly Jades friends and family" he said as he started looking for the designs.

"She must be a real social butterfly."

"Yeah, I think I only invited around 100 people."

"We're you trying to keep it small?"

"Yeah it's mostly my family, the team and people from my church, I figured to just invite the people that have been in my life, you know, the ones that I'm closest to...not the whole population of Oakland" he smiled and shook his head.

"Understandable, it's a personal occasion and you want to celebrate with ones closet to you, your family" I finished.

"Yes! Exactly."

"But hey on the bright side you'll get more gifts" I smiled.

"Good point".

"So what about you, any family here in Oakland?"

"Uh no I was born in Chicago but I moved here when I got this internship."

Or at least that's what you want him to think.

"Interesting, but can I just ask what the hell made you want to be a wedding planner?" He chuckled.

"Because as far as I'm concerned, it's the most boring, and longest process ever" he groaned as he sipped from his glass.

"Yeah it's long but it's all worth it trust me" I giggled. "But I don't know...weddings have just always caught my attention,I get to help people plan one of the most important days of their lives."

"Did you plan you're own?"

"Oh no I'm not in a relationship" I winced.

Don't think I ever will be after that last one.

"Oh...really I'm shocked."

Alright that's gotta be the wine talking.

"You really put me on the spot there" I said trying to change the subject. "That's like me asking you why you wanted to be an NBA player."
