BROOKLYN POV"Mhm I can't wait to taste you" Stephen licked his lips as he marveled at the sight in front of him.
"Think you can manage for two more hours?" I giggled, startling Stephen who in response jumped almost sending a whole table of cupcakes to the ground below.
Sighing in relief he turned towards me with a mischievous look on his face. "How many times do I have to warn you about sneaking up on a brother like that?" He inched closer to me before throwing an arm around me, squeezing my shoulder. "You did an amazing job with this reception dinner by the way".
Beaming, we both took a moment to glance around the venue, where tonight's dinner for both families of the bride and groom, would be held before wedding rehearsals officially began. This was the official marker that we were more than halfway done with the wedding planning process, and I couldn't believe it!
"Thank you! That means a lot, now you be sure to have fun tonight!" I smiled as I quickly gathered my belongings. Netflix and an order of takeout was calling my name.
"Wait what do you mean? Your not staying for dinner tonight?" He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"No...besides tonight is just supposed to be between you and your family!" I argued.
"Well...what if tonight I want you to meet the family?" Immediately stopping in my tracks I turned back to face him, shock evident on my face.
Was he serious right now?!?
Clearing my throat I tried to suppress my growing nervousness. "Um no it's okay you don't have-"
"No I want to! You deserve to be at this dinner too, after all you did make all of this happen" he motioned to the venue. "Besides I'm sure my parents would love to meet you!"
Although I was looking forward to a relaxing night, I figured that getting the opportunity to meet the Curry family was too hard to pass up. Besides the pleading look in his eyes was making it too hard to refuse.
"Are you sure I won't be a burden?"
"Brooklyn you could never be a burden to me" his small smile broke out into a grin, and I found myself trying to stop my heart from jumping out of my chest.

"I just can't believe my baby is getting married! It seems like it was just yesterday when he was scared to touch girls because they had cooties" Sonya states with a laugh.
Earlier in the day I was so anxious about meeting Stephen's parents, as I didn't know how they would feel about my presence. Yet I had nothing to be anxious about, his family is so kind, and embraced me with open arms. If anything they were disappointed at the fact that they hadn't met me sooner.
"But even though I feel like this whole wedding thing is happening a little too fast..." Sonya trailed off as she took a quick glance at her son who was currently talking to his brother and father. As if he sensed our eyes on him, Stephen quickly glanced over at us sending a wide smile our way. "I'm just happy he's happy" she turned back to me, giving me a reassuring smile.
"Oh don't be such a sap Mom" Sydel teased causing all of us to laugh. "After this you'll be pressuring them into having grandchildren".
"Whatever" she nudged Sydel. "But I'm just so glad they found you Brooklyn I mean you have done an exceptional job with this wedding!"
"Aw thank you!" I grinned yet, my smile quickly faltered as my eyes shifted to the right of me. All throughout our conversation, Jade had been sending me daggers which quickly made me uncomfortable.
