Brooklyn POV
I sighed as I ringed the doorbell to Steph's house again but still got no answer.
"Great now I'm late" I mumbled. I can add that to my list of screw ups in the last 2 weeks.
The picture scandal eventually blew over, things would be much different now too as it took a toll on pretty much everything.
Camilla was practically breathing down my neck now. This was my 'strike one' as she put it, so I have to be on my toes.
Not to mention things have been awkward between me and Jade, as I've noticed she's been giving me the cold shoulder a little bit. But I didn't really blame her especially after she found out that I was drunk was at a party with her husband.
I've been getting recognized at places whenever I step out from time to time. Which isn't really a good thing especially since there's always that chance that he could find me.
But I've been trying not to think about that now, or even anything too stressful as it would just make me anxious and result in taking more doses of medications.
I've been trying to take Taylor's word and relax more and go with the flow, but it's difficult as I've never really been one to relax.
My thoughts were interrupted by what sounded like the pounding of the basketball that sounded like it was coming from the backyard.
Probably Stephen I thought, he probably knows where Jade is or at least why she's not answering.
I haven't really talked to him ever since that story broke, and the only time I would see him was in the few times he was with Jade but he was always going somewhere.
So I knew that this would be pretty awkward considering that the last time we really had an actual conversation was when I threw up in front of him.
But I knew I needed to finish up things today with Jade, especially since we were starting rehearsals soon. So my nosy self made my way to the gate.
My jaw nearly dropped as I made my way through the backyard, I thought the inside was nice, the outside was even better!
They had a beautiful patio area and a pool that wrapped around the house, and not too far down you could see the guest house. And finally there was a basketball court which was the source of all that yelling as shirtless Stephen was in the middle of the court pounding the ball.
I couldn't help but stop and watch for a second, as him being shirtless was not a bad sight to see. Especially the way his muscles flexed when he was pounding the ball-
"Ugh!" He groaned as he missed his shot causing me to snap out of my little trance.
The ball bounced off of the backboard before bouncing a couple times and rolling towards me.
"I thought that your supposed to have a more gentle touch" I spoke aloud startling him.
He quickly turned around but then relaxed once he realized who I was.
"You can't be sneaking up on a brother like that" he sighed as he walked over to me.
"Yeah I know sorry...I'm here for Jade, but nobody was answering the front door" I shrugged.
"Well Jade left not too long ago, she had to pick up her sister from the airport".
"Oh, maid of honor that's right! I sighed. That's why she's not here, I forgot she canceled for today. "Sorry I've been a little out of it lately".
