~PRESENT DAY~

My eyes fluttered open and I found Odessa to be resting beside me. I smiled, reaching over and brushed the back of my fingers against her sun tanned skin. Who knew it would be a few months after that most painful time of my life. Miracle is now three months old and she's the happiest baby I have ever seen. She's happy to be loved and cared for by her two mothers. She's going to grow up surrounded by strong women in her life, as my mother looks after her when Odessa and I want to spend some time alone.

After the first few weeks of Miracle being born, we invited the entire empire to bear witness to her crowning as she is the next in line to be Caesar. And it was the one and only time I got to see Odessa in a traditional outfit befitting of a Caesar. Her hair was in one long braid and it sat on her right shoulder. A golden crown of leaves were set on top of her head and I had a silver one to accompany hers. A creamy white toga had formed to her built body nicely and there was even a red sash to go along with it. She had a golden leaf bracelet on both of her wrists and as soon as the crowning was over, she immediately took everything off and almost started walking around the entire palace nude.

Which I was surprised my mother and the woman didn't say anything the night of Miracle's birth. She jumped out of the bath in such a hurry that she didn't put her toga back on until we reached our bedroom. That was when my mother handed her a toga to cover her body. While the woman knew of Odessa's anatomy, she wasn't prepared to see it that night and she almost passed out.

Her eyes fluttered open and I found the most beautiful amber eyes staring back at me. The one reason why I fell for her in the first place. I smiled, my heart beating fast as she reached up and grabbed my hand, kissing my palm.

"Morning, beautiful."

"Morning, gorgeous," I giggled.

Her arms wrapped around my body and she pulled me close to her. I tucked my head into the crook of her neck, taking in all that was her. We've been through so much together that we finally have peace. We're finally able to just lay and relax beside one another. That was until a cry could be heard.

I was about to get up, but Odessa beat me to it. She walked over to the crib and pulled out Miracle who was crying, her arms and legs flailing about.

"Hey, hey, I got you. Mama's got you."

I leaned onto my arm as Odessa sat down beside me, cradling Miracle close to her chest, rocking her as she started to calm down.

"I got you. Mama's not going anywhere. And neither is mom."

I finally sat up, leaning over to find Miracle opened up her eyes, her tears receding as she started to coo, reaching up at me. I was about to take her, but Odessa pulled her close to her chest.

"Odessa," I laughed.

"Five more minutes with her."

"Fine," I smiled, rolling my eyes.

"She's just jealous that when I pick you up, you immediately become happy."

"That's not always true!" I said, smacking her shoulder with the back of my hand.

"Hey, don't smack me when I have the baby."

I rolled my eyes once more, chuckling to myself. Miracle was getting fussy again and that was when Odessa handed her to me.

"Oh, now I have to deal with her?"

She gestured to the wet spot that was right by her chest, "I am not the one able to breastfeed."

"Fuck you," I said and pulled my toga down a bit, letting Miracle latch onto me. "Look away!"

"It's not like I haven't seen your tits before."
