"Eomma, you're lying to me, right? You'd never possibly send my boyfriend... your possible son-in-law..." Soojung grabbed her mother's hands and stared into her eyes.
"I'm sorry, my dear. It's for our family, there's nothing we can do." Her mother pulled her in for a hug. Instead, Soojung pushed her mother away from her and burst out into tears.
"I'm going with him. To 'The Unknown'. It doesn't matter to me if I have to sacrifice our family's fortune, but I'm going got do it. I have to."
Her mother sighed and turned to Jessica for help.
"Soojung..." Jessica didn't know what to say. Even though they've always talked about their problems and such together, Jessica had never felt so unconnected with her sister. She just didn't know what to do about this situation. It was either separating the two and causing Soojung to go into insanity or letting them live together forever and their family losing everything. Losing their status and especially their Soojung.
"Jebal... I'll do anything. I will give you all my money, I don't care. Just let me go with him."
Mr. Jung stopped the conversation with their lawyer and stood up from his chair.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. You didn't even greet me when you walked in, but you beg to let the whole family's fortune go down the drain and live with that thing?" Their father glared at Soojung from head to toe.
"Appa, please... I can't let him die alone. He needs me to survive. We'll be so depressed without each other."
Silence. No one dared to petition anything. They all cared deeply for Soojung, and spoiled her when they could. Seeing her sad and depressed already made the family feel like it was a burden, but having her away from their household for the rest of their life? That's pushing it.
Tears continued flowing down Soojung's face like a water faucet, which made them pity her even more.
"We can do this." The lawyer proposed a plan and took off his glasses.
The whole family turned around to face Lawyer Jeon.
"Let her live here and send him to 'The Unkown'. However, they'll be able to visit each other every 6 months."
