DabeI'm ready to be over with this damn dinner, on me was the last straw for me. I had to remind myself to be the lady my daddy raised me to be, so I didn't cuss her drunk ass out in front of her guests.
I pulled Mike aside so I could tell him I wasn't interested and apologized for Sally wasting both our time, to be honest, there's nothing wrong with Mike or James, they are both very handsome men, but unfortunately for them, they have one thing working against them,
they are not indecisively toxic, AKA, Andrew Williams. The man has ruined me for every other man, speaking of the devil where's he, I look around for Sally and Andrew, they were my ride home and the only reason I'm here. I made my way toward the lobby of the hotel and found them on the couch, Andrew had Sally's head lying on his lap while he brushed off her hair and tendered to her carefully, from this point of view one could say they were in love and the rest of us were just intruders in their world. One minute he says he loves me and the next he is cuddling his wife. Men!
On second thought, I'm going to drive myself home, I made a U-turn to leave when he called out for me-
"Are you ready to leave?"
Shit! I take a deep breath and make my way over, "Yeah, I am....I-is she okay?"
He nods, "She's just tired I guess. It's been crazy since the wedding."
The valet signals that the car is ready. Andrew
gets up carefully and without much of a fuss, he lifts Sally in his arms and starts walking towards the car.I pause watching him leave, he must have felt that because he stopped and turned around to look at me,
"You two can go home, I'll just take a cab. It's no problem."
"Hold on." He gently places Sally in the back, straps and covers her with his jacket, then he opens the front seat door for me, "Get in."
"I don't want to."
"Get in the damn car, Dabe."
The tone of his voice sent shivers down my spine, "Alright." I get in the car and he does the same. I quickly reach for the seatbelt, so things don't get heated with Sally in the car.
"Do you need anything?" He asks me.
"No, I-I'm okay."
He sighs and starts the car. The drive home is relatively quiet, Andrew has his eyes centered on the road, I guess we are all so tired of any more mischief.
I leaned back on the seat and tried to shut my eyes for some time, my head was aching, and I couldn't wait for this ordeal to be over.
The car came to a stop at the house, I opened my eyes to watch Andrew, reach out to Sally at the back, he carried her in his arms as they made their way into the building, I just waited in the car.
I wait for a moment and then make my way inside, I've been familiar with the place since the wedding, and I remember wanting a home like this. I hear noises coming from the room upstairs, so I follow into the bedroom.
It turns out to be the master bedroom, just when I thought of walking out, I see Andrew with Sally, he has her in his arms again, and he had cleaned and changed her clothes,
"Can you help me?" He gestures at the covers, I quickly hurry and help him clear the bed, Sally is still passed out drunk and mumbling a bunch of nonsense, I always knew she had a problem, I guess I always thought she would grow out of it, especially after meeting Andrew and changing her whole routine for him.
I watch him place her gently on the bed and tuck her in, "Come on." He dims the light and drags me by the hand.
We made our way downstairs and as Andrew proceeded to pour us another drink, I let out a sudden laugh.
