"Sasuke!"

Sasuke glanced back. Almost half of his face was hidden behind his long, black hair. This style hid his Rinnegan and that was the main purpose, Naruto knew. But even so, he couldn't think how cool Sasuke looked like this...Well, it wasn't as if Sasuke could ever look not cool no matter which attire or style he adapted. Since they were little, Sasuke had changed his looks quite a few times, and Naruto had always been irritated how easily and beautifully Sasuke had always pulled off those looks.

"Where have you been?" Sasuke asked, his face impassive as always, "I arrived here at least ten minutes ago. Should a Hokage be prancing around instead of doing the paperwork?"

"Ah, I was doing that till I went out to have some snacks," Naruto waved a hand, grinning, "But I'm so happy to-"

"Snacks? You're the Hokage," Sasuke said in his lofty tone, "Don't tell me you don't have anyone to bring you snacks. You were just goofying around. Look at all that paperwork on your desk."

He strode to the desk and put a hand on a tall pile of papers, "I'm not especially close to him, but I do feel sorry for Shikamaru."

"Ugh, feel sorry for me, will ya?" Naruto scratched his head, "Have you gone home yet?"

"Not yet. I'm going home now."

"Hey, don't leave yet!" Naruto said hastily, "Can't we talk a little more while we drink tea?"

"Talk about what? I sent you my reports regularly. There's nothing more to talk about," Sasuke started to turn away. The sight of his back made Naruto's heart ache, again. He smiled and slumped down in his seat,

"Hey, hey, we could talk about everything. You've been to so many places. You could tell me about them. About the food there and everything else."

"I haven't seen my daughter in quite a while. And Sakura must be waiting. I'll go see them first."

"Look at you, you've become such a nice family man," Naruto gave a thumbs-up, "Good work, Sasuke."

Sasuke, with his hand on the door-knob, glanced back at him and paused. Then muttered, "See you later."

After the door had closed, the smile felt too heavy for Naruto. He dropped it and threw his head back.

Damn it, even after all these years...

Even after all these years, it still hurt. It hurt almost as much as it had hurt that night. He put a hand over his chest and frowned. This wouldn't do. He needed to see his children to calm his mind. Shikamaru must've learnt about Naruto's little break from Sasuke already, Naruto escaped through the window. His cloak fluttered behind him and the hems of his black and orange shirt snapped in the wind. He breathed deeply, freely. This world, this sky...Konoha, everything he had worked so hard to save...

"Dad!" Boruto was surprised. But he was happy, too. He was such a tsundere, Naruto thought. The boy definitely loved his father too much. But he was much too proud and shy to admit that.

"My little princess," Naruto knelt beside Himawari, who was staring at a sunflower in the garden. Her eyes widened and she threw her arms around his neck, shrieking in glee. Naruto laughed, too. His heart melted as he hugged his daughter. When Hinata heard their racket, she came out, wearing her white kitchen-apron. Naruto grinned at her. Hinata blushed, just like the old days.

I am so grateful I have them, Naruto thought, staring up at the ceiling of his little bedroom. It wasn't his and Hinata's room. This room was solely his, filled with things from his past. He sat up and glanced at the photos on the wall. The first photo of Team Seven...His eyes were stuck at little Sasuke's face. Sasuke used to be so arrogant back then...and cold, too. It was fun when Naruto could actually make him break out of his ice-shell and act crazy.
