"Have you ever been on a plane before, Amanai?" Kaede asks, though the answer is clear from the way the girl looks around, eyes filled with innocent curiosity.

"I think once, when I was much younger."

"Where to?"

"My parents brought me on a vacation to Malaysia," she smiles faintly. "The water there was so beautiful."

"Do you have a lot of memories of your parents?" Kaede asks carefully. "If you don't mind me asking."

"I don't mind. My mom was a ballet dancer. She'd always try to make my dad dance with her even though he had two left feet," she giggles slightly. "Her nose was covered in freckles, and she'd always cook me rolled omelets when I was sad."

"And your dad?"

"He did research for an aquarium," she smiles. "Every weekend he would let me come with him to his work and stare at all the fish for hours."

"I doubt it would be the same as your mom's, but Suguru here is a great cook. Once we're back in Jujutsu High he can make you as many rolled omelets as you want," Kaede offers, looking at the boy sitting to Amanai's other side. "Right, Suguru?"

He looks up from the book he'd purchased in the airport, preparing himself to conjure the Rainbow Dragon once they were up in the air. "Of course, whatever you want to eat."

Satoru falls into the empty seat next to Kaede, having finished checking all the other passengers— or rather blatantly invading their personal space. "Everyone seems okay."

"Good. Take a break," Kaede says. "You've been using your technique since yesterday."

"I'm fine." He grabs Kaede's hand, interlocking his fingers with her own. "What do you think of stopping by the beach before heading back to the school?"
