Justin's P.O.V.

At the moment, my mom and I are at some restaurant. It's called Surhons and according to my mom has the best tea. I don't remember when she became so delighted of tea but it doesn't really matter. I just came here for the cheeseburgers. However, I was surprised when she told me this location. It's two hours away. Why on earth would she drive two hours for some tea?

"Justin, if I had to drive six hours to get some of this tea, I would." she states.

"That's insane," I argue.

"Oh, hush and eat your burger."

I decide to let it go and actually get to eating this good looking burger. I find it quite tasteful. Not a taste i'd drive six hours for, but a good taste. The restaurant has a seating for outside and inside. It's a place you'd expect to see or be in Paris or something. If you ask me, I think it's tacky but my mom seems to enjoy the outside. I watch her as she stares off into the flowers that are decorated everywhere.

"I absolutely love these flowers, don't you?"

"No," I answer truthfully. "I think it's over the top."

"Well, I think they're perfect. When you get married, I'm going to recommend these flowers."

I deepen my eyes with confusion. "Get married?"

"Oh," she giggles. "In the far future, of course."

I find it odd how calm and free she's been acting. With dad gone, i'd thought she'd want to get away from all the gang stuff. But yesterday she was very invested in it.

"Mom," I start off. "How do you feel about dad's murder?"

"Excuse me?"

"How do you feel?"

She shifts in her chair almost uncomfortably. "Well, I don't feel anything about it. I always knew one day something bad would happen to him but he never believed me. And look where that's gotten him."

"But are you okay?"

"Oh, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" I ask with uncertainty.

"Yes, I'm perfectly fine."

"And have you been taking your medicine?"

"Oh," she yells excitedly. "Guess what?"

"What?"

"I no longer have to take those godawful pills."

"Says who?" I ask worried.

"Relax. My doctor said my heart was fine. I just have to go for monthly check ups."

I simply nod although I'm not convinced.

We didn't talk much seeing as we both began to eat our lunch. But meanwhile I had a question running through my mind that I've been itching to ask her.

"Mom?"

"Yes?"

I hesitate to ask but the urge fights through. "Who killed dad?"

She stops eating and slowly looks up at me. It was all bizarre but she tried to play it off like she wasn't just stunned by my sudden question.

"We've told you who killed him," she mumbles, looking down at her salad.

"No, everyone else has told me. But not you."

She stays silent for a few minutes before answering "It was Selena."

"How do you know?"

"She s-shot him in front of us. . . right in the head."

The last hope I had, that maybe it couldn't have been her, is shattered into dust. My mom wouldn't lie to me. Especially not about this. It's the sad truth. Selena killed my dad. And now, I have no choice but to kill her.
