Your mind never wandered anywhere else. It was always so dead-focused on him. You didn't realize you were in love until you saw how Zenitsu acted around Nezuko. That was how you WANTED to act around Tanjiro and it was no secret that Zenitsu was in love with Nezuko.

So maybe, you were in love with Tanjiro, too.

You weren't the only one, that much was obvious.

There was Aoi, Kanao, you just knew Inosuke had his bi-awakening when he met Tanjiro.

Dropping hints in front of a clueless, innocent boy like Tanjiro wasn't as easy as you'd think it was.

Tanjiro was very dense and some days, you would make it so painfully obvious that even ZENITSU would be cringing in pity. He'd be thinking, 'Is that what I look like when I'm around Nezuko?'

You know when you have those moments where you have this dawning? Like the truth to a situation just shows itself to you in the most random moments?

You, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Nezuko, and Inosuke were all fighting a weak demon, but Inosuke was knocked out and that took a toll on your team.

Tanjiro was protecting Inosuke while Nezuko protected him and you and Zenitsu fought the demon.

An attack managed to cut off one of Nezuko's limbs and made its way to Tanjiro.

You slashed through the attack, sent your way and jumped in front of Tanjiro, getting half hit with the attack and blocking the other half.

Blood splattered from your right shoulder as your arm went limp.

You got back up and began fighting after making sure Tanjiro was okay.

He blinked slowly.

You just- you took an attack for him?

You got hurt, for him?

Tears welled up in Tanjiro's eyes and his cheeks turned red as he watched you fight with a blood-dripping arm.

That was the moment he fell in love.

Well, the moment he realized, anyways.

He knew he liked you, and he didn't realize it was more than a normal "friendship" until now.

His mind flashed to all of the times you've reached for his hand.

Next, to the times where he would catch you gaze lingering on him for longer than it probably should have.

Eventually, Zenitsu was able to perform a powerful attack, slicing the demon's head clean off.

Tanjiro stood up as you caught your breath.

He slowly walked over to you and grabbed your (not sliced) shoulder, turning you towards him.

"Are you okay Tanji-"

He placed his lips on yours softly, cupping your face gently with his other hand.

You wished it would have lasted forever.

And can you make it last forever?
