Anaesthetic fiasco

Anshuman's POV

It's been exactly 3 days since Samarth and I decided to be 'friends' and since then we couldn't manage to have a proper conversation because every time I try to talk to him he is either talking to Jhil or texting Jhil. He doesn't even hang out with us. He is always with Jhil either in the canteen or library.  Even right now when we are all sitting together in the canteen he is far away from us with Jhil.

"Bro you're staring as if you want to eat them" Pulkit murmurs near my ear

"I am not starting at them" I answer sternly

"Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night" he says sipping his drink

"Both brothers are so bad at lying" Lakshya teases and I just roll my eyes instead of saying anything.

"Every conversation has to end up at me right" Pulkit says in a irritated tone

Between all this I see Samarth opening the water bottle for Jhil. Schoolboy is becoming better at flirting I see. Yeah keep going and you guys will be dating really soon. I can't help but feel bitter from some reason.

"I have to go It's time for my music practice" I said getting up from my seat.

I glanced at Jhil and Samarth for the last time and left the canteen.

When I reached the practice room everyone else was there already and after some time Samarth had also arrived.

After 2 hours or so our practice had ended. Seniors gave their boring speech on how we have to perform our best in the upcoming event.

While I was leaving I heard Samarth calling me

"Hey Anshuman"

I turned around to look at him as he was coming towards me.

"Are you free for some time?" He asks

"You need something?"

"I wanted to buy some guitar picks, will you accompany me" he asked hesitantly

'Why not ask Jhil to accompany you' my mind says bitterly but I hold myself back from saying it.

"Yeah okay, Let's go" I answer with a polite smile.

It took us 15 minutes to reach the market by taxi and Samarth took me to a old shop which was partly isolated. He bought some guitar picks and I also bought a drum practice pad.

"Hey schoolboy, wanna have ice cream" I ask him and I know I am grinning but I can't help it

"Right now?"

And I nod in excitement

"Okay" he smiles and fuck something happened inside me.

God did my heart skip a beat? No ofcourse not maybe I am hungry or something.

"You stay here I will bring it" I said and rushed to get icecreams for us.

"Here" I gave him his favourite butterscotch ice cream.

"Thanks dude, It's my favourite flavour" he grins.

"I know"  fuck my tongue slipped didn't it?

"Huh" he says in a confused tone

I avoid his eyes looking somewhere else to pretend like I didn't say anything.

"How do you know" he questions

"Umm....I guessed it"

"Really?"

"Y—yeah"

Samarth starts enjoying his ice cream without asking any further questions and god he is grinning like a kid. Why is he so similar to a puppy. I hate to admit but he is so cute.
