Anshuman's POV
Love always comes when you least expect it and so does rain. Now don't get me wrong I love rain but this is not the ideal time. Not when I need to reach to him as soon as I can.
I've been running for the last 10 minutes, how far is our school? He has been waiting for so long that too in the rain.
When I finally reached there, I was already out of breath and I saw him standing leaning against a wall. He noticed me and started walking towards me, he is drenched in rain and so am I.
I wanted to walk towards him but I can't, my legs feel numb. I can't move my body, I feel a lump in my throat as my eyes fill with tears.
"Tu late ho gaya" he says with a wry smile
(You're late)
"Maaf kar-" I was stopped mid sentence as he pulled me in his embrace
(Forgive m-)
"No listen to me first" I hear a sob in his voice
He pulls me more closer
"I am sorry, I am sorry for being so stupid, so blind. I am sorry for hurting you so much, for being a jerk. I didn't realise, I thought I was in love with her but I was so wrong. Please forgive me Ansh, just one last chance, please"
He sobbed till he couldn't breath.
"Samar-"
"No let me say it, I need to tell you what I feel" he finally breaks the hug and looks at my eyes
"I don't love her,Ansh I can't love her. I can't stop thinking about you even when I am with her. I tried to convince myself that I like her but I couldn't- I can't live in a lie, I can't live with someone when my heart clearly yearns for your presence every moment. I can't pretend to not love you because that feels like a sin"
He chokes and his eyes fill with tear.
"Ansh, I need you to know that you are the only one whom I can show my real self without any fear. I look at myself in the mirror without any doubt because I know there is a guy who compares me to the moon, who accepts all my flaws. And I know that I have hurt you so much, I am consumed with guilt and regret but still I am here asking you to forgive me and love me once again.........I want that kiss to mean something, you're my first kiss Ansh and I want that when I am seventy, with wrinkles and grey hair laying in a hospital bed, you will bring me white tulips and kiss me for the last time. Will you do it, Ansh?"
This time I pull him into a hug crushing his body against mine until there is not space left to breath. His head near my chest and he sobs along with me. He is so close but still not close enough.
After a while when we both stop crying, I finally gather words to convey my emotions.
"Phir se nahi bhaagega na"
(You won't run away again,right)
"Kabhi nahi"
(Never)
"Think carefully, you will be stuck for life with me"
"I'll be glad to do that"
"Log judge karenge"
(People will judge us)
"I don't care about them, I care about us"
"Family nahi mani to"
(What if our families don't approve)
"Wait karenge ek na ekdin to maan hi jayenge"
(We will wait, they will approve one day)
"It will be the whole world against us"
"If the whole world is watching, I'd still dance with you"
Breaking the hug I wiped his tears and cupped his face.
"I missed you so much" I say pressing our foreheads together.
"I love you" he says holding my forearm
"I love you more"
"Yeah, I know you do" he says as he pecks my lips.
I didn't take a moment to kiss him back. This kiss is different from the first one. It's soft, it's tender. I grin into the kiss cupping his face, tilt his head kissing him deeper. He wraps his hands around my neck and I hold him by his waist. Deepening the kiss I discovered new depths of desire, and craved more for his love.
At this moment I knew that if had to go back in time and change something about us, I wouldn't change a thing.
