Danielle's tongue twisted into a ball of knots boy scouts couldn't even make. She drew in a slight breath, and released it slowly.
"I-It's you!" She pointed accusingly. The dusty cowboy, Andrew, from the airplane was standing in the flesh right in front of her.
"Yes, yes it is," Andrew threw her a little wink. "I've been called many things, seems like you're at a loss for words." He grinned, and shoved his grimy hands into his pockets.
"How did you... get here before me?" Danielle lowered her jabbing finger, and relaxed a bit.
"Pure luck, I guess?" He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. "We just got back not too long ago."
There was a long pause as the grunting from Jake as he picked up the suitcase could be heard a little bit away.
"How come you didn't tell me back then?" Danielle spoke up. Andrew gave her an interested look.
"Hm?"
"Back on the airplane, why didn't you mention I'd be working for YOU?"
Andrew stood on the last step of his porch, hands deep within his pockets, as he nawed on his bottom lip. He'd been caught.
"Hey, did I miss something?" Jake came rolling over with Danielle's bags, feeling the sudden tension in the air.
"Mister...?"
"Daugherty," Andrew quickly finished Danielle's sentence.
"Well, um. Mr. Daugherty failed to mention that he was on the same flight as me." Danielle gave Jake a smug smile. She hated being lied to. The main ingredient in any relationship; trust. What bugged her even more was that fact that he was trying to cover it up.
"I had no idea that was you. I mean, what are the odds?" Andrew grumbled defiantly. Danielle scoffed at her nim-witted boss.
"Did you buy all of our tickets?"
He went silent, no argument there.
"Well I'm sure--"
"Go ahead and put her bags inside--"
"I'm sure that it must've been a coincidence! Oh and what were you doing in the city anyways--?" Jake gripped Danielle's arm tight and dug into her skin. But she didn't want to stop, this guy is a complete joke! She tried spitting out a few more words, but Jake's powerful arms spun her around and brought her small and slender body into his.
His face closed a massive distance between his and Danielle's, planting his rough lips on top of her's.
The intense surge of energy rushed through her entire body. She relaxed her shoulders, it feeling good to have the rugged man's lips on hers.
Well, after being consumed with hormonal thoughts, Danielle quickly realized Jake's intentions to stop the bickering.
With all of her might, she pushed off the broad shouldered man away. Jake expected as much, but wasn't prepared for the right hook to his jaw.
He stumbled backwards and held his poor face. Danielle's powerful punch left her knuckles red but she wasn't a house wife for slapping.
Andrew stood back in awe, mainly for the fact that he had just witnessed the strangest kiss, and the strongest punch... Ever.
Awkward silence fell amongst the trio. Well, what was there to say? Danielle was bickering with Andrew, Jake tries to stop her, ends up smacking lips, she punches him and then quiet. Pretty much sums up the entire confusing, not to mention idiotic, situation!
