I smile tiredly at her and move to lay on my back as I stare at the sky above. The moon is still up, but it's not high. Which means the dawn is breaking any time soon. I close my eyes as I let myself relax. Mom... dad... S/N-Nee... I'm no longer afraid.

-An Unexpected Incident-

Y/N P.O.V

I decided to keep the training session between Luana and I a secret. It's not like I have anyone to talk to about her. They'd just think I'm crazy and think I have some imaginary friend.

The training with the Hashira's continues. I've tried to train with 3 so far. Himejima-San, Uzui-San and Rengoku-San. The three oldest Hashira's. I do notice that I'm training in age order. Which leads to the current Hashira I'll be training with.  The Water Hashira, Tomioka Giyuu.

So far, I still haven't managed to find the right one that'll match my style. Probably due to the fact that I already have Luana to train me. His crow is showing me the way to his Estate. I've gotten quite used to being here.

"Alright, we're here" the crow said. I lift my hand and lightly knock on the gate. The gate opens to reveal the Water Hashira. The most noticeable thing about him is probably his haori. Half of it is maroon, while the other half have a geometric yellow and green shape. I wonder if he has a reason to be wearing a haori that way. But I know better than to bother him about it.

"Sorry for being late..." I said, in a soft voice. He just let out a soft hum, moving aside to let me in. I awkwardly make my way inside. Tomioka-San is also a silent person just like me. But over time, I've learned to be more open. I can speak freely to the others. I still feel nervous. But I'm better than the first day I got here.

"I'll just be blunt..." he said, out of no where. I jump at the sudden voice. He turned around to face me. His eyes seem cold to other people. But they held sadness and loneliness. "I'm not the right teacher for you. I don't want to waste your time. So you should carry on with the next Hashira to train" he said.

"Eh?" I let out, blinking my eyes in surprise at what he just said. "We haven't even try anything yet. How do you know you can't train me? Even Urokodaki-San tried to and then he decide he can't. But you haven't tried at all" I asked. He just stares at me, without saying a single word. I stare into his eyes as I try to figure out what he could be thinking.

I let out a sigh. "I see... it's about your confident, isn't it?" I said. He stares at me with a surprised gaze. "You have doubt in yourself. You're the one who told yourself that you can't train me. You believe that you're weak, isn't that right, Tomioka-San?" I said. He looks away from me. But the look on his face told me that my guess is correct.

"You're not weak, Tomioka-San. You're really strong. I had a hard time trying to beat you, remember?" I said. His eyes widen as he seems to remember who I am. I give him a small smile. "It's me, Tomioka-San. One of the kids you met on that snowy days. Remember?" I said. He lightly nod his head, making my smile widen a little.

"I've never got to thank you. Thank you for not killing Nezuko that day, Tomioka-San. Strength isn't about taking lives. It's about the courage to let someone live. I know it's risky, especially for a Hashira to let a demon live. But you're willing to go through with that and gave her a chance to live. In my eyes... you're the strongest" I said. I give him a close-eyed smile after I said the last sentence. I feel my body getting pulled into an embrace.

"Thank you..." he whispered in a soft voice. I blink my eyes in surprise. A soft smile starts to form on my face as I return his embrace. It's been a while since I've felt this warmth. It reminds me of the hug given by my sister. I can see myself seeing Tomioka-San as a brother figure in the future.

"So are you going to train me, Tomioka-San?" I asked, after he pulls away from the hug. He smiles and gently pat my head, nodding his head. I step back a little and throws my hands above my head. "Yayy!!" I cheered as I jump a few times. I blush out of embarrassment when I realize what I just did. I let out a nervous laugh, rubbing the back of my neck. "Er... s-sorry about t-that" I said.

"It's fine. Come on. I'll train you on swords fighting" he said. I grin and nod my head. I lift my hand, visualizing my sword.

"Do you think I can try holding that?" He asked

"Do you think I can try holding that?" He asked. I turn to look at the sword I'm holding and turn to him.

"Sure..." I said. I hand the sword to him. His hand turns blue at the contact as the sword instantly melts. I let out a gasp as I rush towards him. "I'm so sorry, Tomioka-San. I didn't know it would do that" I said.

You mustn't let anyone touch your weapons, Y/N. You're the only one capable of touching it... other people touching your weapon will ended up getting a bad frost bite. Better tell him to hurry up and warm his hand. Before he lost his hand... Luana said. I feel so bad for Tomioka-San's hand. I rush off to grab a towel and rush back to him.

"I'm so sorry..." I said, tears starts gathering in my eyes. Tomioka-San gently places his free hand on my head. I wrap the towel around his hand, desperately trying to get it to warm up. If he ended up losing his hand, I'd never be able to forgive myself.

I move the towel and let out a sigh of relief when the color is back to normal. "I'm so sorry, Tomioka-San!" I cried out. I cover my face, crying harder because I feel bad for almost making Tomioka-San lose a hand. I feel myself getting pulled into a hug. A hand gently running through my hair.

"It's okay... you didn't know it would happen" he said, in a soft voice as he hugs me tightly. I sob into his chest as I clutch his haori. He continue to caress my head as he tries to comfort me.

After a while, I finally calmed down. He gently wipe the tears from my face with his hands. "Don't cry, Y/N. My hand is okay..." he said. I just smile weakly at what he said. Any later, he would've lost his hand. But I'm glad we can still save it. I've got to be more careful next time, so it won't happen again.
