Oyakata-Sama clears his throat, making us turn to look at him. "Welcome to my Estate, Y/N. I hope I'll be able to find you the right teacher for your unique abilities" he said. I blink my eyes at what he said. Does that means... I'm welcomed here?!
-The Training Begins-
Y/N P.O.V
Kocho lets me stay at her Estate. Which makes me feel grateful. Since I don't know the rest of them yet. The Love Hashira also seems nice. But, I'm still awkward towards her.
Today, I'll be starting my training. Oyakata-Sama had given me instructions that I should try training with all the Hashira, to see who'd be better to be the one to teach me. I'll be starting with the Stone Hashira. I think they told me his name is Himejima Gyomei.
The guy with a huge body. The first time I met the guy, I was instantly intimidated by his size. But after sharing a few words with him, he's actually quite gentle. I'm not sure how he is as a mentor though. Hopefully he's not going to be too harsh on me.
I was told to head to his Estate and his crow will be the one to guide me there. The moment I step out of the Butterfly Estate, a soft cawing sound reaches my ears. I look up to see a crow flying in circle. I'm guessing that's Himejima-San's crow. As soon as he notices I'm within his sight, he starts to fly towards a certain direction. I just follow him as he leads me towards the Stone Estate.
After a while of following Himejima-San's crow, I finally reached an Estate. The crow lands on my shoulder. "We have reached our destination. Please knock before you enter" he said. I gulp and lift my hand, lightly knock on the gate. I jump back in fright as the gate makes a loud creaking sound as it opens up. The crow on my shoulder let out a sound that sounded like a laugh. I turn to look at him with a straight face. He nudges my face with his head.
"Head inside, will you?" He said. I peek around the gate to see no one is around. So who opened the gate? I feel a soft peck on my cheek, which startles me. I turn to look at the crow. He motioned me to head inside. I gulp and finally make my way inside the Estate.
I notice someone is sitting on the ground not far from where I am. His huge body is the most noticeable feature of his. It didn't take long for me to realize who he is.
"H-Himejima-San... I'm so sorry for b-being l-late" I said, nervously. He turn his head slightly towards my way. I flinch and shut my eyes tightly, worried he might start yelling at me. I hear his footsteps coming closer towards me. I feel a giant hand on my head, making me relax as it feels so gentle.
"It's alright, Y/N. I can sense the slight fear in you. You don't have to be afraid. I'm not going to hurt you..." he said, softly. I slowly open my eyes and look up. He has a small smile on his face. "Shall we begin our training? Let us find out if I'm the suitable mentor for you" he said.
"Okay" I said, nodding my head. He removes his hand from my head. He takes a few steps back and grab his axes. I tilt my head slightly in confusion.
"Do you think you can create an axe with this ice power you possess, Y/N?" He asked. I blink my eyes at what he said. I lift my hands, visualizing an axe. The mark on my wrist grows as an axe appears.
"Hey, it works!" I said, grinning happily. I turn my head to look at Himejima-San to see him smiling proudly at me. It makes my heart swell up in pride that I can make my teacher proud of me.
"Alright. Why don't you try to attack me? See if you can break through my defense" he said. So he's going to use defense while I'll be using offense. I feel worried that I might ended up hurting him. "You don't have to worry about hurting me. Just go on all out. You don't need to hold back" he said, noticing I still haven't made a single move.
"O-Okay..." I said. I take a deep breath and lunges at him, making use of my smaller form to gain upper hand in speed. But surprisingly, Himejima-San is really fast despite his height. Each blocks are also strong and firm. Looks like it's going to be hard for me to break through his defensive stance.
A While Later
I breathe heavily in exhaustion. No matter how hard I tried to break his defense. He's just too strong for me. I drop on my knees as my axe melts into water.
"I don't think... axe is suitable for me, Himejima-San..." I said, tiredly. He hums at what I said. He place his axe down and walks up to me. He kneel down in front of me, gently placing a hand on my shoulder.
"It's alright. We still have 8 Hashira's left. I'm sure one of them can be the right mentor for you..." he said. I just give him a small smile. I hear footsteps coming closer towards us. "Ah... Genya. Come closer please. We have a guest here" he said. I turn my head to see a guy with purple attire. He has a scar across his face much like one of the Hashira.
"Why don't you show this young girl to her room. It's starting to get late. So she would be staying the night here. If that's alright with you, Y/N?" He asked.
"Yes, Himejima-San. Thank you for training me and letting me stay here" I said, bowing at him. He gives my head a gentle pat and gestures me to follow Genya. I turn around and follows the boy as he walks away.
He leads me to an empty room. "This is the room you'll be staying in. Washroom's over there if you need to wash up. There's a pair of kimono in the room for you to change to" he said.
"Thank you, Genya-San..." I said, giving him a close-eyed smile. I open my eyes to look at him to see his face have turned red. "Are you okay?" I asked. He quickly turns around and walks away without saying a word. I blink my eyes in surprise at his reaction.
I just shrug my shoulders and enters the room. I change my clothes into a pair of kimono. I'm too tired to take a shower. So I'll just shower tomorrow.
I lay down on the futon and stares at the ceiling. I yawn softly as I turn to lay on my side. I close my eyes, letting myself drift off to sleep.
Dream
I feel myself being carried as the person runs away. A flash of images of my parent's dead bodies flashes in my mind. I soon realize I'm being carried by my older sister. She's carrying me while running, desperately trying to escape a demon chasing after us.
A strong force sending us both flying forward. I roll on the ground as a demon stomps on my sister's back. She let out a scream as her bones shatters.
The demon turns his head to look at me. A huge grin forms on his face as he tauntingly approaches me. I back away until my back makes contact with the tree. I feel tears running down my cheeks as I let out a cry.
End of dreams
I jolt awake, sitting up right. I start to breathe heavily. It's that nightmare again. It keeps coming back to haunt me. No matter how hard I tried to forget about it. I just couldn't.
I hug myself, desperately trying to calm down. Tears starts gathering in my eyes as I shut them tightly. I try to get rid of the horrid images from my mind. Usually, Tanjiro is by my side to give me comfort. But he's not here.
I didn't realize how his presence helped me with my state until he's not around me when I needed him the most. I wish we'd be able to see each other again soon. But as for now. I'm gonna have to get used to my new situation.
I have to be strong, because I know Tanjiro is trying his best. I don't want to be a burden to him because he needs to worry about his sister and finding a cure to change Nezuko back into a human. So I will try my best too. So I'll be able to help him.
