Naja
Omniscient POV
As Naja walked back to the car, Noah continued to laugh at her.
It was starting to annoy her, and she found it disgusting.
She entered the car and Noah sat beside her, still laughing.
It was one of those good laughs too. The ones where your stomach starts to hurt, and you can't breathe but still can't help it.
"What the fuck is so funny?" Naja snapped, as she turned towards him.
"Oh nothing, just the fact that that girl ate the food and dipped on your ass" he replied.
Naja sulked as she turned back around in her seat, she didn't have a comeback or a witty remark to respond with.
"It's the way you were staring at her for me, you were looking at her like she was the love of your life. Did you want her to turn around and kiss you before she left? You wanted to be her knight in shining amour? " Noah mocked.
"Oh my god, shut the fuck up. I was just trying to help her." Naja retorted.
"Yeah sure" Noah answered, raising his eyebrows.
"Bro your fucking disgusting, I don't know anyone in my life more disgusting than you." Naja said, annoyance evident on her face.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt your little feelings." Noah stated in a sarcastic tone.
Naja began to stare him down and he did the same, but after a few seconds of looking at her face, he began to laugh again.
"I can't wait until I get my car back so I can avoid your annoying ass" she muttered lowly while rolling her eyes.
Noah continued laughing as Naja put her wallet in her work bag and turned around to place it in the backseat.
She then saw some keys on the car floor.
Instinctively, she realized that they belonged to Azani, but she had already left.
She reached down and picked up the keys, her fingers brushing against a small keychain that was loosely attached to them.
Upon closer inspection, she realized that the keychain stated the name of a company.
She figured that this was her workplace.
Maybe she could just stop by tomorrow and return them to her.
With that thought in mind, she then placed them inside her work bag as well.
Just then, Noah turned around and started eyeing the backseat as if he was looking for something.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"Bitch stop being nosey." Naja responded as she side eyed him.
"Ok damn, I was just curios, it's part of my human nature." He stated.
"Yeah, whatever. Are you done laughing and being an idiot now?" She questioned.
After she asked the question, Noah began laughing again.
Naja held her head as she began to groan out in annoyance.
Azani
Omniscient POV
Azani quickly approached her apartment door, before absent- mindedly reaching into her pocket.
Her eyes squinted in concentration as her hands searched for the familiar shape of her keys, but the only thing she felt was the soft lining of fabric.
Azani then muttered underneath her breath, as her gaze dropped to the floor.
She then rummaged through her pockets again, but like before, she felt nothing.
Shit!
Azani tried to remember if she had somehow left her keys inside, but then quickly dismissed the thought as she realized that was utterly impossible because the door was securely locked.
She then arrived at the conclusion that during the whole encounter, she might have misplaced them.
She then sighed in defeat before dragging her hand down her face.
Leaning against the doorframe, she then began to tap her fingers against her arm as a whirlwind of possibilities swirled around inside her mind.
Just then, a spark ignited in her eyes as a sudden sense of relief took over her being.
Azani then reached into her shoe, pulling out a small pocketknife and taking it off safety.
She carefully inserted the blade into the lock and began prying and twisting.
After about two minutes, she heard a soft click as the lock disengaged. Without hesitation, she immediately stepped inside, the familiar scent of her home wrapping around her like a warm embrace.
With a swift motion, Azani slung her jacket onto the couch, allowing it to settle in whatever position it wanted. The fabric landed with a soft thud, crumpling sightly as it settled on top of the cushions.
Feeling a wave of fatigue wash over her, Azani then slowly made her way to the bathroom, each step heavy with the weight of her thoughts.
As she undressed, she could still smell the lingering fragrance of the woman. The smell brought triggered an unusual feeling as she thought back on the events that occurred. She couldn't believe that she passed out at the front of the supermarket, but at the same time, she was grateful.
It had been a while since she actually had a proper meal.
It was also definitely the first time that someone had shown some level of concern about her well-being or cared for her.
She had to admit that it was an unfamiliar feeling, but at the same time it kind of warmed her heart. She wasn't used to it so it would probably take her a while to open up and be more accepting, but, in the meanwhile...
She had to admit that she kind of enjoyed that.
