Chapter 12

THE CORRIDORS ECHOED WITH THE FOOTSTEPS AS THEIR CHATTER FILLED THE HALLS CAPACITY which expanded across the ginormous grounds that belonged to their headmaster. James and Jaehyun had not talked in a few days which was odd considering they were still sat in the same class. It seemed as if James had telepathically understood Jaehyun was not in the mood, ever apparently. Despite them sitting on chairs separated from them by mere inches James decided against trying to talk to his friend, mostly because Jaehyun looked extremely stressed. But now it was rather an understandment that both of them did not really want to talk about how their emotions had been stressing them out. Instead of the happy sunshine which usually boasted off his joy to others and those around him, he seemed upset, worried and anxious.

James did want someone to talk to, but it was impossible. He wanted an understanding ear, one like Jaehyun but just not Jaehyun yet, he could not tell one of his recent friends, one he took an honest liking to, that he was hooking up with his brother, or, at least he thought Seohyun saw it as a hook up, there was not a possible universe where someone as beautiful and caring as Seohyun could be into him, it would be ridiculous.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" James questioned as he looked up at Jaehyun who seemed to be mindlessly scattered, making sure to only step inside of the tiles and not on the lines.

"Sure," The boy answered. Even though he did not ever dare say so, he adored the company of the certain Potter boy, mostly because it gave him a sense of warmth he did not often get from Regulus. Do not forge his words, he loved Regulus till the death of him, he was preparing a suicide with their plan, but Regulus was still not a warm person at heart. He of course understood that, growing up in a house like that, he had often heard many stories of how Sirius got absolutely beat as a kid for small mistakes, no sign of comfort. Jaehyun knew when he best friend was trying to help, but if never shown affection one will never know what it is like. Jaehyun did not mind that, no, he found it interesting, but with James they just both got along in their minds. James was like a part of the sun had been taken of space and been gracefully placed into the house of Godric.

James grinned softly, "Has- has Seohyun, ever.. been with a guy?" He asked, hoping the answer would be one he expected so that he could move on from his fling with his own captain.

"Not that I know of.." He answered as he looked at his friend confused.

"Why do you ask?"

James turned a bit red and coughed to make it come over as a cough that got stuck in his throat. "Oh- Er.. no particular reason." He responded.

There was a small silence that followed them to their path towards the kitchens. The warm and gentle atmosphere rubbed off on the pair almost immediately when they walked inside which caused a direct smile to catch onto Jaehyun his lips.

"Now that I think about it.. I've never really heard Seohyun talking about love before, despite half the Hogwarts population chasing after her." Jaehyun commented meekly as he sat down on a small bench inside of the kitchens.

A pang of heartbreak hit him like a shot wound, James nodded, defeated, even though he could not deny it. Being on the team with Seohyun for a few years he had come to know him a bit better than most, and in those years he never mentioned a connection to girls, and Merlin forbid guys. James did not know why it bothered him so much, this is what he had wanted, he wanted Seohyun to see him as a one time thing so his focus can be shifted back to the one person his heart had always been out to, Lily.

"Yeah.. me neither." James muttered.

Jaehyun noticed the frown on his friend's face but decided not to comment on it. Deciding to change the topic he brought up something that first came to mind.
