Entering the shattered depths of my mind,

Where that 'love' once thrived, now it lies blind.

You, my ally-turned foe, held my heart so tight,

But your devotion took its darkest flight.

Boldly you pursued me with a passion so fierce,

Italicized was your every desire.

You painted my heart with your endless love,

But alas, your affection soon drew out my blood.

Your love, it consumed us both day and night,

Underlined the cracks in our relationship's tight grip.

Bullet List of ways in which rippled our aversives,

Leaving us both consumed by this destructive art.

I, your perfect angel, watched in dismay,

As your love spiralled into obsession's sway.

Your actions, though misguided, were fueled by love,

A love so strong, it consumed you dangerously whole.

I tried to warn you of the dark path we were on,

But my words fell on deaf ears, lost in the gloom.

You despised me for speaking the truth,

In your eyes, I was the enemy, your foe.

But deep down, I knew it was necessary,

To show you the harsh truth, to set you free.

I promised to you, for your sake,

As a way to sustain your mentality,

As a way to prevent your destruction,

As a way to save you from that end,

I would destroy myself before you could destroy you.

Because it's better this way,

I'd rather you despise me,

Than for you to despise yourself.

That's my honest truth.
