In the realm of dance and dreams,
I met a being of ethereal grace,
Whose smile spoke of pure delight,
With every encounter, we embraced.
In the halls of the ballroom, we danced,
Our steps entwined, our hearts aflame,
A symphony of movement and rhythm,
With our smiles never leaving our eyes.
As we spun across the floor,
In each other's presence, we found solace,
In each other's arms, we soared,
With each passing moment, our love grew.
But amidst the symphony of sound,
A confession pierced the silence,
A voice filled with vulnerability,
Asking for my love, my embrace.
With a heavy heart, I hesitated,
Realizing the magnitude of his request,
Apologizing for the pain it would cause,
And gently saying, "No, I cannot."
The music faded into silence,
And our dance came to an end,
But as he left, with turned back to me,
Shining me one last smile.
In that moment, I wanted to hold you in memory,
Maybe even hold your hand too,
So I could apologize once more,
And tell you how much I adored that precious smile.
