Steps along the lone seaside, where shadows dwell,

I found solace in the person that reached out to me.

They saw past my hardened shell that my guarded heart,

And accepted and loved me beyond anything I could ever imagine.

Their love was like a gentle breeze,

Whispering promises of a future that was meant for us.

It washed over me, soothing my pain,

And made me realize that I was no longer alone by the sea.

Their love resembled water drops,

Unconditional and unwavering,

Refreshing and new,

But I stood still, at a distance,

Unable to fully embrace it, for I was wounded deep within.

Their love was a flame, burning brightly,

Illuminating the darkness that had engulfed me.

But I couldn't help but be afraid,

Afraid to touch that light, afraid to love and be loved in return.

Yet, their love persisted,

Persistent in its pursuit of my heart.

They showered me in their love,

That resembled water drops,

Unconditional and unwavering,

Refreshing and new,

Patiently waiting for me to open my eyes and see the truth.

That their love was not just a temporary fix,

But a love that would last a lifetime.

A love that would heal my wounds,

And help me find my worth.

And so, I began to thaw,

To let her love in, to allow it to mend my shattered heart.

And I realized that it really was true,

Their love became my sanctuary,

A place where I could be vulnerable and unafraid.

A place where I could find solace and peace,

In the arms of someone who truly understood me.
