Chapter 35

So very sorry guys. I haven't been regularly updating. I was facing some issues. But thank you for putting up with me. And also please do vote guys that would give me more motivation to right.

Aarohi pov

I had to wake up early in the morning for one more ritual. It's known as 'Bale shasthra'. In this ritual the girl is made to wear black colour bangles. Along with the bride all married wear too.

After that I started getting ready for muhurtha. This is the auspicious time chosen to tie the knot.

Atharva pov

Early in the morning, after taking bath I got ready wearing white panche and shirt.

The first ritual for the day was Kashi yathra. This is actually a bit funny ritual. Here the groom will take an umbrella and a little bit of clothes, and pretend to go to Kashi. Then the bride's father will somehow convince the groom to not go and in return he will be rewarded with a bride.

After that bride's brother or any male cousin should wash the legs of the groom and welcome him. Since Aaru didn't have any male cousins , Gowtham decided to take this ritual in his hand.

Then the groom will be brought near the mandap. After that even our bride came wearing a ivory saree with golden blouse.

In the beginning both cannot see each others face since they will be separated by a cloth. Then there were some rituals after that cloth was removed.

For a moment Atharva was stunned to see the beautiful bride in front of him. He felt has though he had entered heaven. He was thinking what he did in life to receive such a beautiful creature as his wife. His eyes was filled with tears.

Then both saw each other and smiled with tears in their eyes. It was tears of happiness. Somehow in the midst of this chaos they had found each other. In this big world, somehow fate made them to meet each other. At last after all the problems each other faced, here they are.

After taking 7 rounds it was time to tie Mangal Sutra. At that time everyone showered them with akshathe(turmeric +rice).

It felt as though all the gods were waiting to bless them. Both their heart's were at peace. This moment, this day will be the most important and memorable day of each others life.

After that it was time for dhaare. In this everyone will come and bless the couple.

Then the last ritual was showing arundati nakshtra(star).
(In one of the rituals of a Hindu marriage, the groom shows the bride the double stars of Vasishtha and Arundhati as an ideal couple, symbolic of marital fulfilment and loyalty. The couples are asked to look up to the constellation symbolizing conjugal love and affection) source: google

After this a little more photoshoot. Then there were few rituals left after completing everything they went to have food. Since they hadn't eaten properly. After having a full meal it was time for reception.

Both started getting ready separately. Aarohi wore a grand pastel colour lehenga whereas Atharva was wearing sherwani same colour as her dress.

After so many gruesome hours standing and smiling for pictures both were tired. Then it was time for vidayi.

Atharva pov

Everything went smoothly without any problem. Aaru is my wife now. This is a great unexplainable feeling. It's scary at the same time exciting. There will be a person along with me through this life. I thought that home is a space around four walls. But I was wrong. Home is a person. And i found mine.

We were all standing near the car. Aaru was with her father. Even though they were separated and met recently they have built a very special and strong bond. Aaru was hugging her father and crying so I went near them. When I went there he looked at me with tears in his eyes.

"Son I am giving my world to you. Don't break her heart. I know you won't. But I don't want to go wrong in choosing her a life partner. This is decision is very important. Especially in a girls life. I don't want her to be in a place where she is not surrounded by love. Please look after her son."

"Papa don't worry. I will not let her smile die. I will fill her life  with so much love that she won't have time to think about her bad past. When she is drowning I will be her anchor. I will even sacrifice the world if I have to save her. She is my heart and without a heart a person cannot live. You don't have to worry about her. Now she is not only your princess but my queen too." I said and looked into her eyes. She just hid her face in my chest and was crying silently.

Then we started going to our home. She was sleeping keeping her head on my lap. I know she had tiring day so i let her sleep. After reaching we both were welcomed. She entered our house by slightly kicking the kalash.

Don't get excited guys. Today won't be our first night. And we won't be sleeping in a same room. After 2 or 3 days again we both will be leaving in her house for few days. And there will be our first night. So yeah I have to wait few more days. So sad. I know. But yaha aise hi hai.(But here it's like this only.)

Everyone went to their rooms and Aaru was sleeping with Vedika. Even I was tired from all the events and also standing for so much hours.

Atharva: Good night biwi. Dream about me.

Then I fell into a dreamless slumber.

Everyone here were so welcoming. I instantly felt at home. They didn't make me feel I am a outsider. I am lucky to have them as a family. Even though I came to bed early and i was so tired. But my mind was racing with hundreds of thoughts about everything happened.

After messaging him , i scrolled through Instagram for a while and slept.
