Holy. Shit.
People.
Everywhere.
The place was flooded.
There were celebrities here.
Good God...so this is what she gets for being labeled as the girlfriend of London's beloved actor.
She gets the entirety of London.
Taking a deep breath, Cassie walked around the bakery on shaky legs. This could either be the make or break of her career. It was absolutely insane how many people were here. There was a line outside the door.
She spotted a few girls with Sherlock t-shirts and laminated pictures, obviously hoping to catch a glimpse of Ben, but he was still in LA and will be for another three weeks, so their dreams would be crushed.
As she walked around, greeting people and even getting some pictures with fans of Ben's (which was very odd, but somehow felt amazing), she spotted a couple very familiar people. "Wanda," she said with a smile. Wanda greeted Cassie with a hug and a kiss on each cheek.
"My dear, look at this place! You're booming!" Cassie laughed and told her, "I can thank Ben for that one." Wanda waved her off and said, "Nonsense! Look around, everyone is raving about your pastries! I must admit, I had my more than fair share of those mini cheesecakes."
They both laughed and looked on at the ever-growing crowd. "Where's Tim?" Cassie asked. Wanda sighed and pointed to the sampler table, where Tim was munching away on one of each pastry. Cassie laughed and said, "Like father, like son, I suppose." Wanda sighed, "You have no idea."
A little while later, Martin and Amanda made an appearance, as did the rest of the Sherlock crew. They raved about the food and couldn't get enough. Soon after that, Ian McKellan showed up and Cassie thought she might have been dreaming.
Martin introduced them and, much to Cassie's surprise, she didn't make a complete fool out of herself. Others like Richard Armitage and a lot of the Hobbit cast came around, as well...including Luke Evans. Oh, what that man does to her. Nothing compared to what Ben can do, but still.
It was getting later into the evening when Cassie decided to resign into her office for a bit. She left her phone in her desk so it wouldn't be a distraction and ended up having several missed calls and texts from Ben. She didn't read or listen to any of the voicemails, just called him back. Unfortunately, it went right to his voicemail.
She tried again, but it did the same thing. She deemed her office to have bad reception, so she shoveled her way through the crowd of people and stepped outside to call him. He picked up on the first ring.
"Cassie! Darling, I've been trying to reach you," he said, sounding a bit winded. She couldn't help but feel a little worried. "Are you alright? You sound a bit winded. And my phone was in my office, I didn't hear it." He let out a few more pants, before saying, "I'm fine, baby, just got back from a run."
Cassie didn't say anything after that, just breathed out a weak laugh. "What's wrong?" He asked, sounding worried. Biting her bottom lip, she told him, "I just miss you. I know, it sounds selfish and clingy, but...I do. I miss you, Ben. I wish you were here; this place is a madhouse. I think half the girls here were hoping to catch a glimpse of you."
Ben was silent for a moment, before saying, "You aren't selfish, love. I miss you more than you could ever imagine. I've barely been able to sleep since I left you. I miss holding you and breathing in your lovely lavender scented skin. I miss kissing you good morning and goodnight. I miss watching your eyes sparkle when you laugh. Fuck, now I'm getting all teary eyed."
