Two Weeks Later
"Hunter, no!" Cassie just wanted to watch T.V. That's all. But Hunter had to come and steal the remote...again. He's been picking up the habit of grabbing anything in sight and hiding it somewhere in the house. Since they were in an apartment, they didn't have a backyard for him to run around in or bury stuff.
Ben brought up the idea of moving to an actual house with a front and backyard. Since he and Cassie have been discussing seriously about having kids right after they're married, he figured the sooner they move, the better. Plus, Hunter will have a backyard to bury the remotes and Ben's boxers in.
It was a bit of a fight, but Cassie eventually got the remote back from the dog. He whined at the loss, but then ran into the bedroom and came out with a pair of Ben's boxers. I told him not to leave those lying around, Cassie giggled to herself.
She got his underwear back as well and closed off every door in the house, except for the downstairs spare. That was basically deemed Hunter's playroom, since he likes to bring all his toys in there and run around. It was technically his backyard.
With a sigh of relief, Cassie plopped back down on the couch and continued watching Parade's End. Pathetic, she knows, but she misses Ben. He left last week to Oklahoma for two to three weeks. After that, he's off to all over the place to film the first half of the Fifth Estate.
He won't be back for three months.
Kelly was still there, of course, but decided she didn't need her big sister to go around London with her. She went out everyday, not that Cassie would mind. She knows what it's like to be sixteen and to want to go out an explore a new world on your own.
It's a damn good thing Ben got her a dog, or else she would have gone out and bought one herself.
Parade's End was starting to get to the scenes were Ben was kissing another woman and fantasizing about another. She hated these scenes, but knowing that she's experienced him in bed and knows what it's like to feel completely loved by him makes her feel better.
Speaking of the devil in the sheets, he was calling her. She picked up the phone and answered, "I'm sorry, Ben, I can't talk. I have another man waiting in our bed." She smiled when his deep laugh rumbled through the phone.
"Oh, you naughty thing," he laughed. "Tell him your fiancé will kick his arse if he even thinks about touching you." Cassie giggled, "Well, he has some dirty paws from our walk today, so I don't think that will be necessary."
He chuckled a bit, then said a little more seriously, "You know I don't like Hunter on the bed, Cass." She shrugged and said, "Get used to it, husband-to-be. He's claimed your spot." She knew he wouldn't kick him off the bed for long. He gives in whenever he's given the puppy eyes. She can only imagine him with their kids.
"Mmm, fine. But only cause I know that bed gets lonely when I'm away. And by the sound of your cheekiness, I can only guess Kelly is out again?" Cassie sighed and told him, "Yup. I think she's seeing someone."
She got up and headed to the kitchen as he asked, "What do you mean?" She pulled out a bottle of wine and said, "Like seeing someone. You know, a boy. I think she met someone and was too afraid to tell me. Though, I don't know why." She put the cork in her mouth and yanked it off, then spit it out and poured herself a glass. She was a classy girl.
"A boy?" Ben asked. "I don't bloody think so. She's sixteen, Cass." Cassie snickered and told him, "Exactly, she's sixteen. She can date, it's fine." She brought her glass into the living room and continued playing Parade's End.
