Ben stretched his long and sore limbs and felt this odd feeling. All week, there's been a soft, naked body pressed up against him. There wasn't any such body this morning and it motivated him to wake up to find said missing body.
He swung his legs over the bed and stood up while letting out a long groan. He yawned and scratched his head as he picked up his robe from the floor and put it on. He walked to the kitchen, but she wasn't there. He walked to the bathroom, but she wasn't there either.
Where was his wife? They were in a hut on the water, so how far could she have gone?
It was when he heard some splashes near the deck, that he finally realized where she'd been. He walked out to the deck with a smile on his face and watched Cassie do freestyle laps from the deck to as far as the coral reef and back.
"Nice swim?" He asked in his husky morning voice once she came up for air. She looked up at him with a wide smile and said, "Amazing. Come join me." He shrugged and said, "Maybe in a bit. I need to eat first."
"There's some left over fruit salad I chopped up this morning in the fridge. Try that with the yogurt and it'll hold you over." Ben chuckled and said, "Yes, chef. I'll be back in a minute." He went inside and grabbed himself what she had suggested.
He then changed into his bathing suit, before going back out and sitting at the table on the deck. He sat and looked over the horizon, while his eyes kept glancing down to his wife.
His wife.
He still can't believe it and it's been a whole week!
After finishing up his breakfast, he put the bowl back inside and was about to join Cassie, until he saw her phone buzzing on the counter. He picked it up and saw it was her lawyer. He knows she's on vacation, so he wouldn't be bothering her if it wasn't important.
Before it could go to voicemail, he quickly answered, "Charles, it's Ben. Sorry, Cass is a bit occupied and I saw you were calling." He listened as Charles explained that he needed to talk to Cassie right now. "Alright, I'll get her for you."
He went out to the deck and saw she was halfway to coral reef. "Cass!" He called. "Cassie!" It took a few moments, but she looked back at him and he held up her phone as he called, "It's Charles!" She swam back as quickly has her body would allow, then climbed up on the deck and wiped her hands before taking the phone.
"Hey, Charles?" She said. Ben grabbed her towel from one of the chairs and put it around her shoulders. He then watched as her face turned from curiosity, to shock, and then to pure, unadulterated happiness.
"Are you serious?" She gasped. "Oh my God! We're coming back tomorrow, so I'll sign the papers then!" She bounced around as she continued to listen, then finally hung up. Ben, watching with amusement, asked with a slight laugh, "What was that about?"
She kept bouncing with a huge grin, then eventually just jumped into his arms, while shouting, "We got the lot! I won the bid! I am an official restaurant owner!" Ben nearly dropped her from shock. "Are you serious?" He asked.
Cassie nodded enthusiastically. "Oh my God, Cass!" He laughed and spun her around for a second. "This is...baby, oh my god." He brought her in for a heated, passionate kiss, then lifted her up and started carrying her the few feet into the bedroom.
He tossed her on to the bed and crawled up her body. "I am so proud of you," he told her. "You are an official owner of a restaurant." She giggled, "I am! Can you believe it? I also I have you to thank, by the way. Not many men on their honeymoon would be okay with their new wives sitting on a computer, bidding on a building for three hours."
Ben leaned down and gave her a tender kiss. "I will have you know, I will not be like most husbands," he told her. "Anything you need to do to get something done, you get it done, especially if it means a few hours away from me."
Cassie ran her hands down his cheeks and cupped his jaw. "It's all coming together," she whispered. He smiled and told her, "I know. Now there's only one more thing we have to do before it all comes together."
She looked at him curiously and asked, "What's that?" He gave her dangerous look and a sly grin. "I know you haven't been taking your birth control this week. As a matter of fact, you didn't bother to bring it. Therefore, I say we try and complete this part of our journey and get into a new one."
He went down her body and placed a kiss on her stomach. "Let's start our family."
