After getting dressed, I opened the door of my room with a lack of energy. My expression was blank as I scanned the living area. Thaddeus was likely gone.

I let out a weary, troubled sigh. Everything seemed to be falling apart. The emptiness within me, which I had been trying to fill by searching for my biological parents—the missing part of my identity—only seemed to grow larger. It felt like a poison coursing through my veins, inflicting an indescribable pain until that feeling gave way to numbness.

Everything is so messed up.

I let out another long weary sigh, left the condo and began my journey to the Del Fuego beach house. I paid the driver and headed straight to the grand entrance. Thinking that they might be having breakfast, I made my way directly to the dining area. As expected, I found Zechariah and Gamila enjoying their breakfast there.

Zechariah's eyes immediately locked onto me as he noticed my presence. “Good morning, amore mio,” naka ngiting bati niya sa akin.

“Good morning, mommy!” Gamila chimed in, greeting me as well.

I forced a smile and made my way towards them. “Morning,” I replied, planting a gentle kiss on Gamila's forehead before taking a seat beside her.

Zechariah reached to serve some food onto the plate in front of me, but I shook my head. “Kumain na ako,” I lied, not feeling any appetite at the moment.

Zechariah nodded slowly. “So, how did the meetup go?”

I maintain my formal demeanor and I replied, “He didn't show up. Apparently, he was aware of my existence...”

Zechariah's eyebrows furrowed. “I never told him about you or mentioned that it was you who would be meeting him that day.”

I leaned back in my chair to relaxed my posture. “Well, somehow he knew.”

And he didn't seem to care.

My attention shifted to Gamila, who was happily enjoying her waffle drizzled with strawberry syrup. From the corner of my eye, I noticed Zechariah standing up, prompting me to return my gaze to him.

“Excuse me,” he said, walking out of the dining area.

I watched Gamila eat until she finished her breakfast, after which Zechariah returned. “Shall we go?” he asked.

Gamila nodded enthusiastically, while I looked at them, puzzled.

“Saan?” tanong ko.

“We're going to Margarita, mommy,” Gamila replied, her face beaming with excitement.

“Oh, that sounds lovely,” I responded, trying to inject as much energy into my voice as I could.

That explained why Gamila was so dressed up today. We all left the dining area and made our way to the grand entrance where the car was parked. We quickly got in and headed straight to Margarita—Zechariah's restaurant. Upon our arrival, the restaurant was already full of customers.

“Magandang umaga po sa inyo!” a busy-looking waitress greeted us.

“Good morning, Chelsea,” Zechariah greeted her back, while I was busy roaming my eyes around then I found a familiar pair of eyes staring at me. He's dining alone.

Anong gina-gawa niya dito?

I wanna approach him but we promptly made our way to Zechariah's office because the whole place is so busy. Gamila immediately walk towards Zechariah's large office desk and I was about to sat on the arm chair but Zechariah called me.
