currently we've only discovered 5% of the ocean
and i think we can all agree
that's about as much as we've discovered
in ourselves
we sit so afraid of digging deeper
scared of what we'll find
so we settle for the surface
where it's peaceful and predictable
and even though we say we crave the unknown
we still prefer to linger in the known
surface level deep
is the furthest we've ever been
and the furthest we'll ever go
