Two weeks into his exchange and another school day came to an end. Scott found himself caught between the familiarity of his routine and the impending evening ahead, knowing he'd be Sophie for at least the next 24 hours.

At Amelia's locker, she organized the plan for the night. "Let's meet at my place for quarter past five. That'll give everyone plenty of time to get their things."

"Oooo tonight is going to be super!" squealed Chloe, glancing teasingly at Scott. "And hey, Sophie, don't forget your pyjamas. There's no way you're getting out of the pyjama party tonight."

"Don't worry, Chloe, I'm well aware of that," Scott retorted, a hint of sass creeping into his tone.

Gracie joined Scott as they left for his place. "I think we should get our things together since we live close," she suggested with a smile.

"Sure, I guess we can do that," Scott replied, appreciating Gracie's thoughtful approach.

Arriving at Scott's exchange, they headed to his room, sharing their complaints about school along the way. It felt like they were becoming genuine friends.

Gracie was surprised to find Scott's things neatly laid out on his bed. "You already have all your things together," she observed. "That must mean you're excited for tonight."

Scott scoffed. "Yeah, right."

While Scott went to ask Mrs. Evans for a bag, Gracie noticed something missing from his pile.

"Mrs. Evans said she'll bring up a bag shortly. Then we can throw all that in and head to your place," Scott says as he walks back into the room.

"I noticed you don't have any pyjamas," she pointed out.

"I normally sleep in my boxers," Scott admitted.

Gracie was taken aback. "And that's what you're planning on doing tonight?"

Scott shrugged. "Yeah, I don't have anything else."

Gracie was surprised by Scott's casual response. "Well, I don't think Amelia's mum would appreciate that. You're a girl and girls don't sleep in boxers. You'll have to borrow one of my pyjama sets. I'm sure we're the same size."

Just then, Mrs. Evans walked in with a light pink Gymshark bag. "Sorry dear, Emily took most of our bags when she left for Canada. You'll have to use her workout bag... don't worry, I washed it."

Mrs. Evans handed the bag to Scott, her attention caught by the purple dress on his bed. Picking it up, she remarked, "Well, isn't this lovely."

Gracie, interpreting Mrs. Evans' statement as a compliment, replied, "We thought so! That's why Chloe and I insisted Sophie wear it to the ball tonight."

"Well, of course. It matches the disco theme quite well. You girls have good taste," Mrs. Evans praised, still admiring the dress.

Scott blushed in embarrassment.

"While I'll leave you two to it then," Mrs. Evans said as she exited Scott's room, leaving him and Gracie to prepare for the evening ahead

"Sophie, where are the shoes you're wearing tonight? Or the clothes you're wearing to brunch? You're not as prepared as I thought," Gracie says, noticing Scott's lack of preparedness.

Scott blushed slightly as he began packing his bag. "I was just going to wear my school shoes... and for brunch, I was going to wear my school uniform with this hoodie."

Gracie frowned. "Those shoes do not go with the dress at all! What size are your shoes?"

Scott checked the size inside his shoe. "They say they are 5.5."

"Really?" Gracie looked puzzled. "Your feet are a lot smaller than I expected. I'm a 6.5, but luckily my Mum is a 5.5 so you can borrow something from her."

Scott nodded sheepishly, realizing his feet were smaller than Gracie's as he finished packing his bag.

With his bag packed, they headed to Gracie's house. When they entered Gracie's room, Scott was welcomed by the sweet smell of vanilla, the same scent of the perfume she let him borrow.

Gracie went straight to her wardrobe, opening a drawer full of pyjamas.

"This is the one," Gracie exclaimed as she held up a satin night set, "you can obviously pick whichever one you want, but if you wear this one we can match!" she said with a big smile.

Scott, looking at the drawer full of silky pyjamas, decided to go with the one Gracie picked out. "Yay, so fun! We won't totally match because mine is a chemise, but they're the same colour and have the same details," Gracie continued enthusiastically. Scott felt relieved she didn't pick the chemise for him.

Gracie continued to grab clothes and throw them into her bag. Once finished, she zipped up her bag and said, "Don't worry, I threw in an outfit for you to wear to brunch tomorrow. Now let's go find some shoes for you to wear tonight."

They headed into Gracie's parents' closet, and Gracie pulled out a pair of purple heels. "These are perfect. Ooo and look what else I have spotted." Gracie grabbed a purple sequin purse, "You are DEFINITELY bringing this! Mum won't mind. It is a perfect match AND it's Fendi!" Gracie squealed in excitement.
