JADE'S POV
We had all been shocked when we heard the noises that caught the attention of the patrolling guards. We were not sure what it was but hoped that it would keep them occupied. Somewhere in the back of my mind I knew it was Leigh-Anne carrying out some sort of plan, distracting them like she wanted to. I was so worried I felt like I was going to be sick but I needed to keep my cool.
I was wondering what we should do about the guards near the door when we all suddenly saw Leigh-Anne run right out into the open and throw a rock at them. She must have been crazy or brave or maybe both to go do that. Perrie had grabbed my hand when Leigh ran back into the woods with them on her tail.
We had all been dumbfounded for a minute and I'm pretty sure Jesy was considering going after her but I knew that it was way smarter to go ahead and hope that Leigh-Anne would somehow get out of that. If we were going to shut this place down in time it was important to move on.
"Guys come on we should go." I urged moving stealthily into the clearing.
Perrie and Jesy both seemed dazed and were resigned to just following me. When we got to the huge daunting double doors that were previously guarded by those two things I took a deep breath. I hoped that they weren't locked or anything.
"Are you guys ready?" I asked timidly. My throat was threatening to take my voice away.
They both nodded distractedly. I pushed with all my might and both doors slowly swung open giving little creeks. As we entered slowly the sound of a blood-curdling scream made us all pause.
"Was that Leigh-Anne?" I heard Jesy ask with a sort of panic in her voice that I'd only heard when we thought that Perrie was dying. It was unsettling to hear her so worked up. As for that scream it did sound a lot like Leigh-Anne. I'd know her scream anywhere –she was so loud.
I didn't know what to do. Should we keep going or head back to save her? Would she be able to get out or would she . . . I shivered unable to complete my thought. As I was struggling to figure out what to do the scream slowly died down. That could not be good.
"Is it too late to go back and get her?" Perrie all but whimpered.
"We're going back . . . now." Jesy said turning to go back outside.
But as soon as we all turned to exit we were met by two of those things. The door shut behind them. We all scrambled backwards inside of the tower that we had not yet even gotten a good look at to avoid being electrocuted. They were making that terrifying whirring noise and I felt sick to my stomach. I turned on my heel to run when I heard Jesy scream. I snapped my head back in her direction making sure she was okay and gasped when I noticed that she'd gave one of them a shot of electricity with one of the tasers we'd gotten from the boxes.
I'd completely forgotten about those. They were strapped onto the stylish looking utility belts that we had on. Thank God we'd actually taken these.
I watched in a mix of relief and horror when the electrici-warrior dropped to the floor with the shock. I supposed that they weren't in any way immune to their own weapons.
"Ha that's what you get!" Jesy yelled then swerved quickly out of the way as the other one shoved its weapon at her.
"Oh Jes be careful." Perrie was whining as we both watched Jesy attempt to shock the monster while methodically keeping out of its shocking range.
It seemed that they'd be battling for a while so I took that opportunity to get a good look at this place and figure out possibly another way out or the whereabouts of this ever elusive red button. It was a large dimly lit circular room with a stair case in the middle that spiraled upwards to a different floor or level of the tower. There were a total of four doors including the one we just came through. I couldn't tell whether the others lead to outside or different rooms.
