Jesy's POV
This was it. The elevator opened up and there was a small white room with a huge red button on the wall right in front of us. Was this really it? It seemed a bit anticlimactic to me. Was it really this easy? Not that everything leading up to this was easy but with all that's happened before this seemed unreal, suspicious.
"Is that the button?" Jade asked mirroring my thoughts.
"Well it's a button . . . and it's red." Leigh-Anne said stepping out of the elevator first.
The room was too small for there to be any dangerous surprises lurking about but then again with this place you could never know for sure.
"Is this a prank? Did we just like win this thing?" Perrie asked stepping out after Leigh-Anne.
"Perrie I don't think it's a game." Jade said following the two of them.
Their voices were echoing in the small empty space. There was literally nothing in here but the button on the wall.
I was the last to exit the elevator and I surveyed the room warily. It really seemed like this was it. After all of that worrying and stress and physical pain we were finally getting out.
"Well let's push it and see what happens." I said moving to the button.
We all surrounded it and looked at each other hesitantly. It was like we were afraid to find out what happens next. After a few seconds we nodded at each other and pushed the button together.
As soon as we released it the white wall started opening up slowly revealing a grey brick room with a large bed in the middle. I was starting to wonder if this actually wasn't the end of this.
"What now?" Perrie whispered sounding unsure. She'd grabbed hold of my arm when the wall started opening as if she was startled.
"I guess we're supposed to step into there . . . and then maybe the wall would close up behind us." Leigh-Anne started sounding exasperated. "Then we'll probably get some further instructions. Whoever is running this definitely needs some new ideas. This is becoming predictable."
We all held hands and stepped out of the sterilized white room and into the dark musky grey one. Just like Leigh-Anne had predicted the wall closed up behind us and we were plunged into near darkness. There were flickering lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
I started looking around the room expecting words to start magically appearing on a wall or something. After about two minutes I sighed loudly, frustrated.
"Oh my God! I can't deal with this rubbish anymore! They told us to find the damned button and we did that. What the hell are they waiting for to let us out of here?" I yelled moving to sit on the surprisingly well made and comfortable bed.
"Jes calm down. They can't just leave us here –whoever they are." Jade said plopping down next to me. She lied back on her back, threw her arm over her forehead then closed her eyes, breathing deeply.
"I have faith. We'll get out of here sooner or later." Perrie sat on my other side.
"Humph, well they better hurry up about it." Leigh-Anne grumbled irritably, joining us on the bed. She didn't seem herself at the moment. Something was up.
"Leigh? What's wrong?" I asked as I took Jade's lead and laid back as well.
She groaned. "I have a bad feeling about this . . ."
Just as she spoke a male voice from somewhere –everywhere . . . nowhere? –started speaking.
"Attention girls! You have survived your mission and shut down the entire thing. Congratulations! Now you have one final task to complete. You need to select one out of you four to kill. You will kill the selected girl and ONLY then shall you be set free. If a girl is not selected and murdered then all four of you shall stay in here forever without food or water until you all die. Choose wisely."
