The Betrayed Wolves

Chapter 11

I padded grumpily back to camp. How could she already have a mate if she clearly was in love with me! I growled and pushed past the guard, who just snorted with annoyance.

My heart began to sink deeper at the sight of Silver-Lineing nuzzling a starry pelted wolf. I turned around, Mika was starring at me. I starred at her, my eyes filling with tears. I ran towards her, letting out a small wail. I nestled my head into her fur. I heard her gasp. "It will get easier..." She mummered. "I have been threw it many times, you get used to it." She said, sadness lingering in her voice.

I had laid by her side all night, her smell comforting her. I watched her flank rise and fall. I fell asleep slowly, my rejection burning a hole in my heart.

I woke to the sound of Blitz calling everyone together. I looked down at Mika, she was my best friend.

A strange feeling wormed in my stomach at the sight of her. No she is just your best friend, dont get caught up again with a broken heart. I thought angrily. I walked into the group of wolves, settling down to listen to what our leader had to say. I sat next to an elder, her name was Wave. She had lost a daughter moons ago. She looked very sad.

Blitz had gone on and on about strange scents across the border. Mika pushed my on my back when the meeting ended. Her eyes shinned with happiness. "I want to play." She said with a smirk. I looked into her beautiful lavender eyes. I could see everything through them. 

I dropped into a crouch and smirked. He leapt at me, I met her mid air. He collided and fell to the ground laughing. I turned my head to her, I gazed into her eyes.  The feeling came back. I quickly got up and shook the snow out of my fur. I coughed and straightend up. "Im going to go hunting." I said and ran out the entrance.

~~Mika P.O.V~~

I starred after him, why did he leave so soon. I loved him. 

With my head down and my tail dragging in the snow, I walked out the entrance.

I walked and walked. I turned my head to see two deer nestled next to each other. Tears formed in my eyes and I started to walk away from them. I looked at the new growth, spring was right around the corner. 

I was always helping him and I will always love him. He didn't understand though. Snowstorm and Silver-Lineing always got in the way. A flash of fur caught my eye. I looked up. 4 wolves had closed me in on a circle. Growling and throwing threats. 

"Boy's we are goona be eating good tonight!" The leader of them yowled. His pelt was covered in scars and blood. My heart began racing. They started moving closer to me. I looked from each of my sides, hoping to find a way to escape these murderous wolves. They leapt at me. I let out a sharp scream.
