Loud booming thunder could be heard as you and Dragon lay in bed having been asleep just for a few minutes when the thunder startled you awake turning to see dragon asleep as you lay back down. The thunder only got worse as the night went on trying to go back to sleep only to be shooting awake by the storm outside again when you're dozing off or back asleep until you just stay awake no longer trying to sleep but just trying not to get scared as you curl into a shaking ball in bed not knowing that you had started crying into your pillow or that your violent trembling woke dragon up who sees you jump as lighting cracks loudly flashing brightly and thunder follows behind making you whimper in fear "Hey shh it's okay" he gently turns you towards him and pulls you in his arms latching onto him tightly as tears poured down your face "You're safe it's just a storm I'm here it's okay" the next few minutes were full of silence except for the storm outside as you hear and feel dragon's peaceful heartbeat against you feeling the fear ooze out of you. An hour later you were quietly sniffling as you felt warmth wash over you and the storm started to calm down until it picked up yet again clinging onto dragon with him running his hand along your back whispering into your ear whenever you would tense up or yelp at the noises and bright flashes of lightning slowly falling asleep after the noise and light calmed down feeling dragon kiss your forehead before slipping into dreamland slightly waking up at the small amount of the storm that went on through the rest of the night but dragon made sure to remind you that everything was safe and he was there with you waking up to the room filled with light from outside realizing that it was day time looking at the clock to see that it was 1:30 getting up to find dragon downstairs on the patio sitting in his lap as you drink on coffee "Sorry for sleeping in baby" he shakes his head rubbing his hand on your thigh "It's okay baby I know that storm kept you up a bit and I didn't want to wake you up so once I woke up I just got up checking on you often" the two of you share sandwiches from the deli down the road and coffee enjoying the domestic day in together.
