As you take a sip of water you hear a small noise looking around before you feel a stinging sensation followed by burning looking down to see a snake latched onto your ankle before letting go and slithering off as you yell in pain. Carmelo hears your yell and runs to you seeing the blood on your hand pouring from your ankle feeling his heart sink seeing two bite marks in your ankle "Baby listen to me I'm gonna carry you okay?" you nod before sobbing in pain as he picks you up asking you something about a color "Melo what are you talking about?" he asks you again what color the snake was while you drink water before remembering "It was dark...almost coal" his eyes widen knowing that depending on what kind of snakes there are and which ones are venomous that you could have been bitten by any one that could kill you and time was crucial for help holding your face in his hands "I gotta get you help" he puts you on his back running down a shorter trail than the one the two of you had hiked on yelling once he saw the emergency cabin "Snake bite! Snake bite!" an ambulance was immediately called as carmelo carefully sets you up on a bench trying to keep you calm and awake. You began to throw up and could barely keep your eyes open as you are loaded on the ambulance and taken to the hospital where melo immediately tells everything trying not to lose his cool knowing that he could lose you any second with your current condition until the doctor came back after calling for antivenom and melo almost loses his mind hearing that the snake that bit you was a black mamba and that had he got you to the cabin four minutes later you wouldn't have made it feeling his heart stop seeing how bad you looked and swelled your ankle was as time slowed down for him until the antivenom was given to you holding your hand tightly praying and hoping that you'd pull through waiting for the meds to take effect but luckily a few hours later it takes effect fully. He notices how your color came back and his heart jumps to his throat in joy seeing your eyes open kissing your forehead and all over your face "God I'm fucking happy you're okay" and finally after six full days in the hospital you are released healthy and well relieved to be alive hugging melo tightly and placing a warm soft kiss to his lips "What was that for baby?" you smile with tears forming in your eyes which worries him thinking you were in pain before you say "For saving my life and being the best human and man that I didn't know I got lucky to have" his heart melts holding you in his arms.
