It was a typical day at the base, with all the recruits gathered in the canteen. König sat with a few people, but didn't engage in much conversation. Suddenly, there was commotion outside as Ghost's voice could be heard.

Ghost: "Since you arrived here, you've been nothing but trouble. You don't belong here, recruit."

As you attempted to apologize for things you didn't even do, Ghost delivered a harsh slap across your face, causing you to stagger back and groan.

*Ghost just looked pissed off, his expression filled with disdain as he told the recruit to get up*

Ghost: "We'll teach you a lesson this time."

*another recruit laughed when the lieutenant raised his hand up again, and before he could land another hit, König stepped in between the recruit and Ghost*

König: "That's enough."

*he looked at the lieutenant angrily, his voice firm and commanding. The colonel looked at each other for a moment before the lieutenant walked away and the other recruits went silent, a few murmuring quietly. The lieutenant was known for being a hard ass, especially to new recruits. That wasn't the issue, the issue was that everything he did was completely uncalled for*

König: "You okay der Liebling (darling)?"

König : "Come here."

*he held out his hand to the recruit, the other recruits just murmuring and snickering at the exchange going on between the two of them, some of them even taking out their phones to record the little incident. König waited patiently for the recruit to take his hand and walk closer to him*

*he had led the recruit outside the building to get some privacy, away from the murmuring recruits and outside the canteen. He bent down a bit, to be at eye level with the recruit*

König: "Look at me."

*König looked into the recruit's eyes to see that they were filled with red. He figured that the recruit was probably on the verge of tears. He looked at the recruit and put a comforting hand on her shoulder*

König: "Relax, it's okay, he doesn't even know your name, he just thinks he's tough."

*König looked at the recruit for a few seconds as his hand on his shoulder lingered, but he didn't take it off. He tried to offer a comforting look, before speaking to the recruit*

König: "What's your name?"

You: "Y/n but you can call me Kiwi..."

*The hand on his shoulder squeezed*

König: "Kiwi huh? That's a nice name. Here..."

*He handed over a handkerchief*

König: "Clean your face off with that... don't worry, most of the other recruits will forget about this tomorrow. Just relax and don't let the lieutenant get to you.*

*He looked over at the canteen, where the murmuring recruits had gone back to eating and joking around*

*he gave another comforting squeeze before he spoke*

König: "Remember, you've made it this far. Keep going for another couple weeks, and you're as good as in, you'll graduate from this place and be a fully fledged operative. Then, none of this training will matter."

*The hand on the shoulder finally released and he looked at the recruit with a faint smile*

A few hours had went by and you and König had exchanged numbers, you lay in bed reflecting back to earlier. He was very kind to you, very encouraging and you had admired that about him.
