Surprise, Surprise

Kelsey's POV:

Cody, Allie, and I sat down at the table at Cafe Alegro. Our waiter, Henry, gave us our menus and walked to the next table he was helping.

"So tell me, Kelsey! How are you and Austin?" Allie asks. It has been a week since we broke up, and the public hasn't really found out yet. Apparently neither has my best friend.

"Well, um, we kinda broke up." I say.

"What?" Allie asks in disbelief.

"Yeah. He dumped me." I explain. "But it's okay, things weren't really working out anyways."

"What an idiot." Cody mutters.

"Shall I take your orders?" Henry asks walking to our table.

"Yeah." Cody says. "I'll take a chicken penne pasta and a side order of croutons."

One thing only I know about Cody, he is in love with croutons.

"Okay, and for you?" Henry asks, looking at me.

"That sounds really good. I'll take the same thing, but no croutons please." I say.

"And I'll take the Cesar salad and lettuce wraps with chicken." Allie says.

"Got it." Henry says, scribbling away in his notepad.

He leaves and we start talking again.

"I'll be right back." Allie says.

Cody's POV:

As Allie gets up from the table, she mouths to me, "Talk to her."

I nod. I want Kelsey back. No, I need Kelsey back.

"Look Kelsey, we need to talk." I say.

"What is there to say?" She asks.

I break down, "That I miss you. And I love you. And cheating on you was the biggest mistake I've ever made. And I regret every decision I made, when I hear your name. Kelsey, I want you back."

"But you cheated on me." She points out.

"But I regret it." I say.

"But you freaking cheated, and you think I am going to give you another chance?" She asks.

"That's all I can hope for." I say. "Kelsey, I still love you."

"But you chose Madison. That's final." Kelsey says.

"Kelsey! I love you! That's not going to change. I admit, I did choose Madison. But that was stupid. I want you." I say, sadly.

"Sorry, Cody. You know I don't believe in second chances." She explains and with that, she gets up and walks away.

Kelsey's POV:

I walked away from the table as fast as I could. My head was swimming.

Did Cody really mean what he said? Do I still like him? Does he still like Madison? Does he really want to get back together? Why do I feel happy that he still wants me? Do I love him still?

I felt bad, leaving Allie, but I needed to get away from Cody. My iPhone buzzed and I quickly looked at the message.

From: Cody

Message: Please come back! Kelsey, can I please explain things?

I replied and then called my brother to pick me up.

To: Cody

Message: Sorry, I need to think things out. Can we talk later tonight?

He replied instantly.

From: Cody

Message: Definitely. I just want things to be okay. Can't wait. <3

Ugh! I went to the front of the hotel, and saw Justin and Kenny pull up.

"What's wrong Kelsey?" Justin asks. He knows me so well.

"Long story." I say.

"I've got time." Justin says.

"Okay, well I went to lunch with Cody and Allie." I explain. "And then Allie went to the bathroom or something and Cody started telling me how much he wants me back."

"What did you say?" Kenny asks.

"I told him he got one chance. And wasted it." I say.

"Good." Justin says.

"Yeah, but now I feel like I still like him." I say.

"No!" Justin says.

"Yeah." I say.
