The Last Word

Kelsey's POV:

I sat in the dark in the living room. Justin was gone. Brooke had left for Minneapolis where she attends school. Niall, Jaden, and Ryan had left as well. And mom was out running errands.

I had never felt so alone. Justin and I had gotten in a fight, and weren't talking. Mom and I were in an awkward spot, after she admitted that I am legally Kelsey Hayden. My dad, Taylor Hayden, had called. And Cody was still bullying me over Twitter.

I considered calling Brooke, but then I started crying, realizing she was my only friend right now. I have Taylor Swift, but she is at her concert tour in England. I have Selena Gomez, but we haven't talked since she dumped Justin. I have Allie, but she is my ex-boyfriend's sister. I have Ariel Winter, but she is busy filming Modern Family.

What happened to my life?

Justin's POV:

I had just come out of the recording studio when my phone buzzed.

Kelle-Belle: Hey, Justin. When you get home, can we talk?

I feel really bad for her. She has been in an awkward position ever since she found out she wasn't a Bieber.

Then there was the fight. If you are wondering what happened, well it's hard to explain. She got mad at me because I was defending her on Twitter. I got mad at her for getting mad at me. Then I told her I was glad she wasn't a Bieber. And I totally regret it.

Kelsey cried and cried for hours. Mom got mad at me and I got grounded. So yeah, my family is falling apart.

To: Kelsey

Yes, we need to talk. I'll be home from the studio in an hour or two. I love you. ~ Justin

I felt good about saying the last words. I meant them. And we hadn't said that to each other in months.

Kelsey: I love you too.

My grin was a big as the moon right now.

Pattie's POV:

Poor Kelsey. I shouldn't have kept the secret from her. Here's what really happened;

When I was 22, and Justin was five, I had a boyfriend. Actually two. Jeremy Bieber and Taylor Hayden. I got pregnant with Kelsey, but it was Taylor's baby. I told Taylor and he left me so I told Jeremy it was his. Then two months ago, Taylor came back to Canada and wanted to see his child.

So I had to come clean to both of my children telling them that Kelsey is a Mallette. She was okay with it, understanding why I had lied until she got in a fight with Justin.

He told her he was glad she was a Hayden-Mallette. That set off the bombs. She cried and cried and wouldn't talk to either one of us for weeks. She only talked to Brooke and her dad.

We needed to sort this out, because my family is falling apart. And I am not okay with that.

"Kelsey?" I ask, when she picked up the home phone.

"What do you want mom?" She asks sternly, but I could tell she had been crying.

"I wanted to say I'm sorry." I say.

"It's about time!" She screams. "It has been 6 freaking weeks that you have gone without saying a word to me! It has been almost 15 years that you have kept that secret! I am sick of that, and you know what? Maybe Justin is right! Maybe it would be better for all of you if I just step out of your way and start being a Hayden!"

"No! Kelsey!" I scream. "This is not what I want! I love you and I'm sorry I didn't tell you! I want you to stay with me and Justin. You are a Bieber!"

"No, I'm not! I might as well just move in with Dad!" She yells at me, and hangs up.

Now it was my turn to cry.
