Chapter 31

Shining red eyes looked into bright yellow eyes. Even as the song ended they didn't break the contact, they couldn't. The monster and the princess stared at each other. They didn't care about the loud applause they were getting from guests, the smiles and shouts of excitement, as they were surrounded by the couples who also began to dance. They just looked at each other. Star fully began to take in his transformation. It would petrify a normal human. It looked more sinister than anything Star had ever seen in her entire life yet...it suited him so well. It was like he was showing himself to her. What he truly is. Star did not look away even for a second. 

Abaddon noticed her new appearance. She shone brightly like a...star. The glowing princess raised an eyebrow when she saw him chuckling.

Star: What?

Abaddon: I was just thinking how much of your appearance matches your name.

Star blinked in confusion. She looked down at herself. She was in her butterfly form. A giggle escaped her lips as she understood what he meant. Her laugh was bright and magical. Abaddon narrowed his eyes ever so slightly as he looked at the princess.

Abaddon:'Shit'

Marco and Tom watched the entire. Tom was unsure now. His friend seemed to enjoy herself with the monster, he didn't know if he could warn her now.

Tom: What should we do now dude?

Marco clenched his fist. He could see Star was happy, she was actually enjoying herself with that thing. He did not dislike her being happy. He wanted her to be happy. He did not dislike that it wasn't him. What he disliked was the fact that out of everyone, out of all the realms to exist. It was that monster. 

Tom glanced at Marco. He knew he was happy to remain Star's friend because he understood he couldn't handle it...but she was still his best friend. He would help even if he had to face the most vile being in existence.

Pony: You two just don't listen, do you?

The two glanced behind them to see Pony chugging down a large glass of some kind of juice. 

Pony: I will-

Tom: Enough!

Tom's anger flared. He knew if he wanted to help Star, he had to help Marco by distracting Pony.

Tom: I am through with this horse shit! 

Tom stepped forward and covered Marco making Pony focus on him. Unfortunately, his anger also drew the attention of the sextet of parents. Marco slipped away from the two who began an epic showdown of words and teenage hormonal anger. 

Star: We need to repeat this.

They powered down as Star reverted back to her normal form along with Abaddon. He looked at her with a playful smirk.

Abaddon: Do you mean the hand-holding or the singing?

Star looked at the mic which was held together in their hands. Her hands overlapped Abaddon's much larger hands. She looked back at him.

Star: Honestly I am leaning towards the former. 

Abaddon chuckled in amusement before he could say anything the ground shook. He grabbed Star from falling as the mic disappeared. A large green magical portal opened up. Abaddon took Star in his arms and stood up. Royal guards surrounded the portal showing their eliteness.

Moon: What's going on?!

Moon and River broke off from their group. They quickly stepped forward. Two massive monsters stepped out of the portal. They looked like a hybrid of lizards and humans. They had grey-scaled skin with yellow eyes. They had steel armour on, covered from head to toe with a spear. They marched forward and split, standing on the sides.
