Kisses {WxW}

{Chapter 11}

Kisses went on the dirt path feeling the grime on her paws as she walked through the forest. She shivered as her dress stuck to her skin and made her feel slimy as water dripped down her thighs.

She hugged herself as she continued the walk. She pouted, feeling dirty as dirt connected to her damp skin and clothes.
The forest was calmer today, and didn't tease her as much with its movements. Maybe it could tell that she was upset.

Kisses perked up hearing a sound. She looked around spotting spiky berry bushes where the sound was coming from. She slowly moved forward towards where the bushes were and peaked her head over careful not to touch them again. Actually she should probably get a new set of bandages when she gets home since the ones wrapped around her arms from the previous time are all soggy now and falling off.

Kisses poked her head over the bushes to see a long black tail.
"Sebastian?"

Sebastian poked up from where he was picking the berries and turned his body to the direction of the voice.
"Lady Kisses?" Sebastian asked out standing up with his basket in hand.

Kisses poked her head over looking at the blind cat. "I'm on the other side."

Sebastian nodded before coughing in his hand a bit at his surprise "One second my Lady I'll be by your side soon just wait there." Sebastian ordered before bowing and leaving Kisses viewsight.

Kisses nose twitched as she turned around twiddling with her fingers. Her buck teeth chewed at her lips slightly as she waited with an anxious thump of her left leg.
It was a few minutes before Kisses was spooked by the sudden presence of Sebastian standing next to her.
"Ah I apologize my Lady, did I scare you" Sebastian said gently taking hold of one of Kisses hands.

Kisses muttered out a small 'No' and shook her head which Sebastian couldn't see.
"My Lady, you're all wet, what happened while you were away? The Master has been worried sick with your lack of presence." Sebastian said hastily, as if he was a worried father.

Kisses just hummed in response unworried, she didn't really understand why Mimi was worried for her. Of course, she understood she was, she wasn't stupid. Kisses just didn't get the concept of it.
"I feel dirty Sebastian." Kisses said simply.

Sebastian paused for a bit, his paws tightening around Kisses hand. "Did something bad happen my Lady?"

"Huh no? My dress is wet, I'm dirty." Kisses said confused.

Sebastian coughed awkwardly. "Hrm, of course- of course. Let's get you back home my Lady, then we can give you a new pair of clothes."

Sebastian's drip loosened as he guided Kisses back onto the path.
"Later tonight we can eat some of the berries I picked here," Sebastian told.

Kisses stayed quiet in response, she was pretty sure she was forgetting something.
"I need to stop somewhere where one of the fox ladies is."

Sebastian kept walking with a bit of confusion. "Do you mean one of Lady Ebony's followers?"

Kisses replied a 'yes' in which Sebastian nodded politely.
"Why may I ask, do you need to talk to one of the followers?"

"Ebony helped me get better, I passed out and she brought me to a riverside to help heal me."

"I see… then we have to be quick. I'm sure any more waiting for you to come back and my Master will explode." He said in a quiet chuckle.

They changed the direction of where they were walking slightly. It was near the way of where Kisses was last chased by wolves in the forest looking for Ebony's territory.
Sebastian let go of Kisses hand as he moved forward behind some similar trees on the path, around where she hid last time.

"Hello Goldie," Sebastian said to someone. Kisses moved forward seeing the fox lady, or at least the one she thinks, who helped her hide days ago.
Goldie stood up and clapped her paws giving Sebastian a handshake as her long whiskers flicked.

"This is Kisses, you seem to recognize her, have you met before?" Sebastian asked with a charming smile to which Goldie proceeded to nod happily as she shook Kisses hand as well.

Kisses blushed uncomfortable from an excited presence and scooched a bit closer to Sebastian.
"Um… Can you tell Ebony for me that I'm safe, I assume she probably wants to make sure I'm okay?" Kisses asked awkwardly as she looked at the ground and rubbed her ears.

Goldie nodded happily, clapping her paws together again with a fox-like yelp coming out her mouth before she scurried off back into the forest presumably to go tell Ebony the information.

Kisses looked up at Sebastian who seemed a bit giddy. "Are you both friends?"

Sebastian grunted before nodding his head. "We've been closer but, both our jobs make it a bit more difficult to communicate."

Kisses just nodded. That was probably why he was so content on the idea of going to visit one of them quickly. Kisses wished for a relationship like that where you wish to see eachother but are content in just knowing the other one was alive. Although, maybe, she was looking for more of a commitment to one another rather than just a simple relationship.

"Well then we can go back now if you'd like." Kisses said simply taking Sebastian's paw in hand again for her to follow him.
He hummed in response as they began to walk back onto the dirt road to go back to the house.

"How do people here know how to venture into the forest without it playing with them…?" Kisses asked simply to herself.
"The forest understands you, it might want to separate communities but as long as you keep a close grasp and show what you want it won't mess with you. But that takes awhile to get used to without panicking which is why we keep you so close." Sebastian explained as they soon walked past the lake and saw the home in the rocks in vision.

Sebastian unlocked the door and opened it for Kisses to walk through.
As they entered he ushered for Kisses to go and sit down on the couch while he went to go get Mimi to tell her that Kisses is safe.

She hugged her legs up to the couch. Her dress was dry now and she hoped it wouldn't be getting the couch to wet in the process.
Kisses nodded as she waited, letting her buck teeth bite at her lip again.
