Rough gave Kisses some fruit she scavenged around for while her pack chowed hungry at some meat that Kisses couldn't identify from looking at, especially with a bunch of snouts blocking it.
Ryuga was eating her own piece, tearing a piece off and chewing it in one side of her mouth, letting the juice fall down her face. Kisses ate her berries more politely, wiping her mouth every moment.
"You are not messy for a reason? You already have dirt all over you." Ryuga asked with an eyebrow raise.
Kisses flushed,"no, I just don't like food on my body, it makes me feel dirty and I don't like the feeling." Kisses explained. She nodded, taking another bite of her food,"what a classy girl."
Chewing she opened her mouth making what she said next sound more of a murmur. "Must be all that time hanging out with those worshipers."Kisses looked up at her confused, "Mimi?" She edged.
"Is that her name? I can smell you with some lady all the time." She responded with a bit of irritation."Um..." Kisses looked down feeling a bit more awkward now.
A tension grew between them for a bit, it wasn't long but the conversation wasn't moving anywhere now that Kisses could recognize an obvious dislike."Sorry, I shouldn't have said that." Ryuga said suddenly while chewing again. A little flushed, embarrassed.
Kisses shook her head and grabbed onto her ear. "No, it's uh, fine."
"Mimi has been helpful to me since I've been in the forest. Is there a reason you don't like Mother Nature?"
Ryuga huffed."Mother Nature is in the name, it controls the life cycle of the forest here, the forest and the heart are siblings. The goat just has very obvious favorites, maybe towards people who it deems closer to them as children it'll be more fortunate towards but to people like my pack who are less gifted and have to be strong by ourselves."
Kisses nodded her head. She couldn't say she was too surprised by that information, if it was true at least. She's only met people who she would presume have some connection with the heart and therefore with the deer.
"How does it control the forest though?" An almost meek voice asked subconsciously.
Ryuga's ear twitched as she bit down on something she was eating. "It doesn't really, of course when life dies they come to take it to the afterlife or at least that's all most can assume it does."
A space in between her words as she took another hungry bite. "The only real children are the heart and the forest, but the heart grew miserable being so protected and kept away, the forest was smaller and more compact by its sibling sadness."
"I'm sure you know by now the heart was stolen but I imagine most didn't tell you that it was because the heart was destroying the forest with itself."
Ryuga explained softly finishing off her food. Her cheeks looked like they were hoarding food like a chipmunk would.Kisses took it in for a bit, surprisingly it didn't feel like much of a drop on her. Over the course of everything it didn't seem like what Ryuga was saying was unlikely.
She just nodded to the wolf hybrid instead.
"We need to leave soon." Ryuga said, suddenly making Kisses perk up a bit.
"Just to a library, they probably have some tougher glue for your crack." She said getting up now."Keiko, you take care of the pack while I'm gone." She said sternly as one of the wolves that was laying down quickly got up as if with a fake sense of seriousness. Ryuga just sighed as she looked at Kisses. "Are you ready to go now?"
Kisses fidgeted with her ear. "Aren't I a bit indecent?" Kisses said in a bit of a mumble looking to the side.
Ryuga just tilted her head, her eyebrows furrowing. She sighed,"if you need spare pants I can give you some but you do realize you don't have a vagina to cover right?" Ryuga said the obvious while moving past Kisses into the cave.
"Yeah but..." Kisses couldn't really come up with an excuse while she waited. It was just an awkward feeling and she didn't like the idea of going out, and she especially didn't like the feeling of wind hitting her underside.
Ryuga came out after a minute to give Kisses a new spare of clothes just being some simple brown pants that Ryuga rolled up for her when putted on due to them being too long.
Ryuga patted Kisses sides. "There. Are we good to go now?" Ryuga said as she stood up already moving her paws before awaiting a response while Kisses just stumbled after her.
"Thank you." Kisses said although rubbing her arm seeming to not know how to put herself.
"It's fine, I value your comfort over what I perceive as normal behavior." Ryuga said simply making Kisses blush from embarrassment."So uh, there's a library around here? I've never heard of one." Kisses asked curiously.
"There is, you don't go out much I presume but there are many inhabitants around here." Ryuga said straightforwardly.
"It's a big one, I have a friend there, Chika." She hummed.Kisses nodded, it was nice to meet another person, another person who actually had a job.
"I like books." Kisses said suddenly.
"Do you now?" Ryuga questioned in a teasing way while still keeping direction.
"I think." Kisses said. "Well, I've never actually read before but I imagine I would like it, I don't really have any hobbies." Kisses now said slightly embarrassed already fessing up to her small lie.
Ryuga chuckled, her teeth poking out of her mouth slightly as she grinned upwards. "I see, well then we'll be there soon anyways for you to see for yourself."
The ground went from the dirt and patches to grass into stone. It was small at first before the stone was obvious. Kisses stayed unfocused on her surroundings before she was stopped by a paw on her shoulder.
"We're here now." Ryuga spoke out.
Kisses blinked before looking upwards to see a giant monumental like building, almost church-like without the religious motif. She looks around before Ryuga steps forward and Kisses quickly comes after her.
The building could only be unseen by the trees around them, if not then Kisses was sure she could see it from where she lived.
She walked in while looking around and as they came inside she could see another woman, a darker skinned woman with small antlers on her forehead that almost looked made of tree trunks.
Her body was covered in a long coat, a trenchcoat. Her hair was in two skinny braids that went into and stayed in the place of hands at the ends that moved around helping her to do her work.
"Hello again Chika." Ryuga said to the other.
