Mimi tugged on a backup onto Kisses back making sure it wasn't too heavy.
"You sure you want to hold the backpack? You get pretty tired easily." Mimi asked not wanting Kisses to get tired too fast knowing how fatigued she could get.
Kisses just hummed in response with a nod. She liked knowing she had her stuff with her at all times, she didn't like when people touched her things much even if it wasn't directly.
Mimi just shrugged, not really believing her but she was strong enough that she could carry the bag and Kisses, if Kisses were to pass out. Maybe she hasn't been getting enough iron or something, although Kisses hasn't passed out Mimi still found herself noting to look into it in the future.
"Where are we going first?" Kisses asked with a bit of excitement shining through her voice making Mimi smile softly just a bit.
"I guess I'll retrace my steps from the first time. We can look around the barrier of Lady Ebony's territory first and then go from there." Mimi explained as Kisses followed her.
They followed the similar trail to the territory. "We can go to the river as well, I have a friend there." Kisses said. She didn't really expect the heart to be near where the keeper was. If it was dropped somewhere close, water was a better bet than anything else.
A hum of contentment was heard in response. "Let's go there instead." Mimi responded a bit too joyfully.
There was a quiet between them, Mimi seemed to think for a moment. "When did you make a friend? You're usually home aren't you?" Mimi said, raising an eyebrow.
"Uh when I was gone for a few days, when I passed out Ebony brought me to some of her healers in the river and they helped me out." Kisses explained a little awkwardly. She was a little worried that explaining her new friendship would upset Mimi somehow but, Mimi just smiled softly at her before continuing to look forward.
"That's good, I'm glad someone was there to help you."
Kisses looked up at her a little confused. "You're not mad?"
"Should I be?" She retorted with a raised brow.
Kisses shook her head. "I was just worried that's all"
Mimi blushed in response realizing. "Of course"
A small silence overtook them, not awkward but not pleasant either. The silence made Kisses feel the tiredness in her legs and it made her hope that Mimi would start a conversation again so that she could take her mind off it. Her lips pursed as her attention shifted before Mimi spoke up again.
"Well, I'd love to meet them if they're at the riverside." Mimi said calmly, looking gently at Kisses again.
Kisses blinked up at her and nodded in response.
She shouldn't have thought Mimi wouldn't like to meet new people. Kisses was probably just a good excuse to not have to focus on the house for a few hours. Although they couldn't be out long so that Mimi can refocus her stone in making sure the ceiling doesn't fall in.
"Mimi. I don't know where to go to find the riverside." Kisses said as they passed the place where she was chased. She was indeed passed out last she was brought there and did not have a sense of direction to go there. She could ask Ebony but she didn't want to bother Mimi with it. Well technically she was awake when she was dropped off at a certain part in the river but she probably couldn't refind that area by herself, she was zoned out most the trip on Bailey's chest and that was too long ago now for her to retrace her steps.
"Oh don't worry, I know." Mimi said nonchalantly, making Kisses blush. She should have expected Mimi to know, she has been venturing into this forest for more than one hundred years now.
"Also, are you sure you're okay with that backpack? Your legs are shaking." Mimi said making Kisses perk up. Her legs had a bit of a shake whenever they stepped forward.
Before Kisses could respond she was scooped up to lean onto Mimi. Her bag was still on her back to Kisses liking.
Once they reached where the riverbank was Kisses let herself down. They both took a few steps near the water watching its waves gently crash into each other saying hello. Kisses brushed her clayed hand in the water letting it run in between her fingers.
"I'll be on your right okay? You go left and I'll meet up with you in a bit." Mimi said, putting a thumbs up, in which Kisses returned the gesture as she began to walk a bit to the opposite side of Mimi on the riverbank.
Bailey was further into the river then this most likely so they would have to walk a bit before they were able to meet her, and the teens there.
Actually how was she meant to look for a heart? It was probably underground so she would have to burrow. Kisses got near where a tree was and crouched down to the dirt. Using her hand she started to dig feeling the dirt start to get in the crevices of the joints.
It itched, the textures of it on her palms but she kept digging despite the unpleasantry not wanting Mimi to think she didn't do anything. She didn't dig that big of a hole before she dropped the bag by the tree and had to lift her hands up and wash them in the river bank to get rid of the uncomfortable dirt in her crevices.
The water was cooling.
A yell shocked her as she fell forward into the water. The water wasn't deep but getting completely wet and drenching her dress wasn't on her preferred things to do today. She hit some part of her chest making her ache.
Mimi helped her out of the water by taking her arms and lifted her out of the water.
Kisses huffed as Mimi patted her down to make sure nothing was on her before she chuckled at Kisses just making her more annoyed. "Well, that was dumb." Mimi said jokingly to Kisses pout.
"It's okay, this is what extra clothes are for on trips." Mimi said calmly, taking out a spare set of clothes.
"Yeah." Kisses said annoyed, but agreed anyway as she took the dress from her.
She put the clean dress over her head putting it on first before sliding the straps of the one underneath off her arms and letting the drenched dress fall to the ground.
