CatNap didn't know what to do. He was in way over his head. The only reason he moved to this sleepy little town was to get away from it all. The loudness, the bright lights, and the many many people the wanted to be near him because of his scent.

He thought that everyone would keep to themselves. But when DogDay knocked on the door and welcomed him, he knew he had made a mistake. A huge mistake!

He decided to keep his mind off of things by putting everything away for the time being. The movers had just out everything in one spot making CatNap's job harder then it already was.

He had to move the boxes around and put them in a certain spot. He had trouble locating the stairs to get to his bedroom. He was lucky that the movers out his bed upstairs and in the correct spot instead of downstairs with the boxes.

He had decided to start downstairs and with the kitchen. He had carefully put all of the dishes and whatever food he had away. He barely had anything to eat. Only some chips, bread, and cereal. He had to go shopping soon.

That was going to be hassle seeing as the nearest town was a mile away.

He finished the kitchen while making a list of all of the items he will need. Maybe he can have them deliver what he needs instead.

As he was hanging a cork board on his living room wall he heard yelling and peeked outside. He saw DogDay again, but he was talking to three others.

DogDay had turned and CatNap quickly hid.

"I'm an idiot, he already knows that I'm here. Why am I hiding?" He whispered

He skipped the last box for the living room and continued around the house. Working his way up to his roo.

He saw the present the DogDay had gifted him and took it with him to his room. He had down on his bed and opened it.

It was a blanket. It was soft and warm, it was purple like his home and his fur. There was little stars on it with a few crescent moons as well.

CatNap held it against his body and rubbed the soft fabric against his cheek softly purring.

There was a knock on the door and he looked over the banister that kept him from falling down to the first floor. He leapt onto said banister and hopped down to the first floor landing onto his feet.

He barely opened the door and peeked to see DogDay.

"Uh, hello again. I wanted to know if you would like a come and join a picnic with me?" The canine asked him

CatNap remained silent. Should he go and see or stay inside and hide away?

"I will do my best and make sure that everyone will give you your space. You're new and I don't want you to become so overwhelmed." DogDay said holding out his hand

CatNap looked back at his empty house that lacks furniture and any decor. He opened the door even more and took DogDay's paw.

He was generous enough to let CatNap close the front door before dragging him away. The canine led the feline over to the center of the neighborhood where the others were waiting for them.

CatNap could feel his stomach twist in knots as he could hear everyone getting louder.

"It's alright Kitty. They won't hurt you." DogDay said softly

CatNap barely noticed how he had changed positions. Instead of holding his paw he was practically hanging onto his arm. He wanted to run away, go back to his house, and hide under the soft blanket that DogDay had gotten him.

"Guys this is our new neighbor, CatNap." DogDay introduced him

"Aww they're adorable and so shy." One of them said, she was a bear with a heart pendant

"Why don't you all introduce yourselves?" DogDay suggested

"I'll go first. I'm KickenChicken!" He was a yellow bird with a star pendant

"I'm Hoppy Hopscotch!" She was a rabbit with a lightning bolt pendant

"I'm Bubba Bubbaphant." He was an elephant with a lightbulb pendant

"I'm Bobby Bearhug." She was the one that called CatNap shy earlier

"Hello there, my name is Picky Piggy." She was a pig with an apple pendant

"Hi! I'm CraftyCorn!" She was a unicorn with a flower pendant

"And you already know me, DogDay." He wore a sun pendant and he smiled at CatNap, "Why don't you say your name."

He hid behind DogDay more, he knows that he can't keep hiding, but new people freak him out. He doesn't know how they'll act around him.

"I'm CatNap." He says barely loud enough for everyone to hear him

DogDay got the poor feline to sit down and he sat right next to CatNap.

Picky started to grab the food out of the basket and sit it down in a convenient spots so everyone can reach.

"So DogDay did you complete your routine?" Hoppy teased him

"Why yes I did." He playfully teased back

"So, what did you give him? Was it something different?" Kicken asked

DogDay sighed, "Why would I give him something different?"

Kicken shrugged, "I dunno. Maybe cause you didn't have time to."

"Why did I give you when you first moved to the neighborhood?"

"A blanket."

"There's your answer."

CatNap looked at DogDay, "You gave everyone a blanket?"

DogDay looked next to him and smiled, "Of course. The pattern is always different, but I try to match the colors to their house or I wait and match it to their fur or feathers."

"He gave everyone one." Crafty said giggling

"You never explained why you took the time to make them for us. It doesn't get that cold during winter and we can't use it during summer." Hoppy told him

"Well before I moved here every single year my family would get together and make me a blanket based off of my interests. It was the one thing that brought them together. When I told them that I was moving away they made me one last one. And it was such a nice gift too. So I decided to do the same and make my neighbors their own blankets to have around." DogDay explained

"Awww!" The girls coo'd

"Oh CatNap here you should try this." Picky handed him some kind of treat, "It's a tart. It's like a small baby version of a pie."

He took it and took a bite. The sweet flavor of the fruits was simply wonderful. Mixed with the flaky crust. He was in heaven. His tail flopped from side to side showing that he liked the treat.

"He actually purrs. That's so cute!"

He opened his eyes and his tail stopped wagging. He blushed profusely and excuse himself and ran away back to his home leaving the picnic and his new friends behind.
