The next day DogDay decided to clean up around his house and get rid of some old junk that was just lying around and taking up space. He didn't need everything he owned, unless it was given to him or it was sentimental.

He started with the closet in his room. He opened it and several things fell out from being shoved in there.

"Guess spring cleaning is long overdue." He chuckled to himself as he got started

As he was sorting through everything he came across something that he had forgotten about. Something that he wanted to forget about.

It was a very old picture of himself and CatNap. They were both very little. He looked on the back of the picture to see some writing: Lavender and Vanilla ♡

He doesn't remember when this was taken and he doesn't remember ever meeting CatNap when they were little. Spring cleaning can wait, he needs to talk to CatNap!

DogDay ran out of his home not bothering to close the door. He can trust everyone, not one was a thief and regardless of the door is open or not, they knock.

He made it to CatNap's house and knocked on the door. The door opened and DogDay walked inside. The door closed and he saw CatNap yawning and rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

"I'm sorry to have woken you up, Kitty." He apologized

CatNap shook his head, "No... I need to learn to not sleep in."

"Still I'm so sorry."

"Don't fret DogDay. What's up?"

CatNap noticed how DogDay was nervous about something. He sighed and wrapped his arms around the canine and softly licked his cheek.

"Stop worrying puppy. Just tell me or show me." He said nuzzling his cheek as well

That calmed DogDay down. He showed CatNap the picture once he had let him go.

"Do you remember this, cause I don't." He muttered

CatNap looked at the picture and smiled, "I remember this. Want me to tell you the story behind this?"

"Yes please." DogDay's tail wagged

"Okay settle down puppy. Do you want anything like tea or coffee?"

"No thank you."

CatNap chuckled as DogDay sat down at the table anyway. CatNap joined him placing the picture in the middle of them.

"Okay, so I was recording a new song for an album and well my manager kept saying that it was wrong everything was wrong. I didn't know if it was me or if he was just having a bad day. He told me to take a break and he called someone. He told me help would arrive tomorrow. So I went home thinking I was going to be replaced. Now in my childlike mind I thought that my parents were going to hate me for being replaced so easily and so quickly. But no that wasn't the case.

"The next day I was back at the studio and I saw you there. The manager was talking to you about something and he introduced us to each other. He said that your name was Vanilla and well I couldn't deny it, you did smell like it. We recorded the song together. In fact we did several songs together. Our parents saw how well we were getting along and took us out for ice cream. You told me that you were a big fan of mine and even thought I didn't a thing about you I said the same thing.

Your mom took the picture and promised to make copies so we can have one. I had it for years until my parents ripped it apart. They ripped it when you stopped doing show business and stepped out of the spotlight."

"Oh..." DogDay's ears flattened, "I stopped cause my mental health was going down the drain and well I was suffering from anxiety and had several panic attacks. Sometimes I would faint from them when they got really bad. So my parents talked to me and we agreed to pull me out. My contract was nearly over and they didn't want to risk my health."

"Your folks are nicer then mine. I had once fainted on set cause they starved me so I could fit into some clothes that could be altered. When I woke up in the hospital they called me weak and told me that I should suck it up and be more considerate of their feelings."

"That's horrible." DogDay told him placing a paw on top of his

There was a knock on the door. The two of them got up and CatNap opened the door.

"Is DogDay with you?" Bobby asked him

DogDay opened the door more, "Hey Bobby what's up?"

"Your front door is open. Just wanted to let you know is all." She said waving as she walked away

DogDay groaned, "I forgotten that I left it open."

CatNap looked at him, "Why did you leave your front door open?"

"I was cleaning and saw the picture, besides no one has stolen anything from me. I can leave it open, I just forgot that I did." He shrugged

CatNap rolled his eyes, "Come on. I'll help you clean."

DogDay's tail wagged, "Really? You'll help me?"

"Yup." He grabbed the canine's hand and led him back to his own home

Once inside CatNap used his tail to close the front door. He had only been inside of DogDay's house once, this was his second time. The scent of vanilla was overpowering, but in a good way.

"You can head up to my room. I'll be there in a little bit." DogDay told him

CatNap walked to the stairs and found himself in DogDay's room. His room was beyond messy due to all of the stuff that was pouring out of the closet. There was old stuff and some new stuff. CatNap spotted a quilted blanket and pulled it out of the pile of junk. There was a thin layer of dust on it, as he examined it.

The design didn't make sense to him as he looked at each patch. There were pictures of fruit and flowers. Then some of the patches were of different cars and sports equipment.

"I made rose tea for us." DogDay announced scaring CatNap

The feline's tail stood straight up and his claws shot out piercing the old blanket. It wasn't torn thankfully.

"I'm sorry, Kitty. I didn't mean to scare you." DogDay chuckled, "Oh my old blanket! I haven't seen this thing in years!"

"What's with the random patches?"

"It's just stuff I was into and liked back then. The fruit I liked, flowers I found interesting, and cars that I dreamed of owning." He handed CatNap his cup of tea before grabbing his own and taking a seat, "This is from when I was little. It was supposed to be in a box... Guess not."

CatNap gave him a small smile. DogDay was so carefree that he could feel himself relax in his presence. The scent of vanilla along with the rose tea was enough to put the feline to sleep, but he promised DogDay that he would help. So he shook his sleepiness away in order to help DogDay...

He only lasted an hour before curling up and taking a nap. DogDay smiled and let him rest.
